Cesc: Unofficial Arsenal statement

by CARL ELDRIDGE At least there is a bit of humour out there surrounding the proposed move of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona. I saw this on the net this morning and laughed my nads off. Please don’t come back and comment on this unless it is with a bit of humour. Enjoy.

I feel much better now, thank you

    very funny

on a more serious note our revered chairman has opened his mouth in the star (why does he always talk to the star?) and is quoted as saying, “We are not remotely interested in selling him”. Make of that what you will.

It will be sad to loose Cesc and I don’t think Wenger will be very happy either. But what is going on in our club we are turning into a laughing stuff in the league. Wenger do something.

Hilarious. I wish that this statement was true. Had we had someone with balls in the board, this would have been the reaction. This is why we need Usmanov. he doesn’t care about money profit from the club. Look at chelsea. Have they sold ay top player in the last 5 years?

Thank you ‘momo’ I have always being pi**ed off at the handling of the club by the board , we keep loosing our best players .I think its time Wenger and his board friends realize that football has changed and sell the club to someone that just want to watch his money talk on the field .Sell to Usmanov and allow David Dien to run the club.

We were better of when David Dien was running the Club, I didn’t even know he wasn’t the Chairman for a long time and being a member of the FA and FIFA governing body, referees treated us well. We had better luck in games and there was knowing stupid salary caps.

Arsenal is not Tesco or Vodafone it is a football club and it needs to be run by football fans and not business executives.

OMG – I woke up with a headache and did this at 4 this morning. Sorry about the typos.

    Surprised to see it here.

Hope the club have a sense of humour about it.

Usmanov is a criminal, fraudster and man u fan. Also David Dein no longer has any associaton with Red and White holdings so even if they took over there is no reason to think that it would mean a return for david dein.

@momo – The board doesn’t make any money out of the club other than by increasing the value of the club and then selling their shares (arsenal doesn’t pay dividends to shareholders, which, was one of the first things Usmanov suggested when he bought shares). And by selling the best players the value of the club if anything will decrease.

Also I would argue that it is better that the club is run by businessmen because football clubs main priority is not profit making, so it means that they are far more likely to go bankrupt than other businesses. And this happens when clubs spend like the fans want them to. I don’t need to mention the examples of english clubs who are struggling due to spending beyond their means. If Arsenal can continue to stay competitive in the short term by self sustainability then in the medium and long term we will be in a strong position. Abramovich and the sheikh won’t be around forever you know… and I’d hope that Arsenal is still afloat when that day comes.

    Hey Eldo,

It looks as if you will have to find a new picture for the head of your blog.

Gallas, Fabregas and (hopefully) Almunia will have to be air-brushed out leaving only a reserve team winger.

It would be nice to replace them with Wilshire, Ramsey and Joe Hart.

Well i must agree i got a little bit emotional , angry that’s all.

I didn’t know David Dein is no more with Red holdings so that just cancels his return .
I admit as well that the club is being ran responsibly but how do we keep our best players db10?Tell me.
Because loosing them is definitely not progress. Whether you like it or not it is going to get more difficult in the top four and Man city and the spuds want to squeeze in now with force.

We have to make sure our best players want to stay. If our best players don’t want to stay then there is not much we can do about it. The only way is to start winning trophies so i would suggest more emphasis put on the FA cup especially. Along with bringing in better quality new players.

If reports are correct Cesc is now our highest paid player at 110k a week and at barca he won’t be getting much more than that. This isn’t about the money. The club have made it clear they don’t need to sell any players any more.

yes it will get more difficult but i can’t see liverpool challenging for a while so thats another team out of the running. I’m just hoping that redknapp will continue on his current form of ruining every club he touches after initially bringing a brief period of success. Southampton, West Ham, Portsmouth and next…

seen that also and I thought for once, good for him, if he has to go let’s at least put up a fight and maximise the fee, I do however fear Arsene will think of Cesc’s ambitions and past loyalties but ferk that, we are Arsenal.

I was slated for making these comments back in February :

    Agree

There’s one little striker that I can think of that reminds me of Wright & we turned down the chance to sign him 3 seasons ago…….

Did anyone else cringe when Wenger spoke about contacting Valencia about Villa last month but they did not want to sell?

Sounded like a manager of a certain Middlesex club talking about nearly signing Rivaldo, etc

I’ve also looked into my crystal ball and have seen some of the ‘news’ articles from Arsenal.con in the summer…..Wenger – Having Van Persie back to fitness is like a new signing…..Wenger – I have great belief in this team of players…..Wenger – This team has enormous spirit….

Actually that was from the last 2 summers but you just know its coming again don’t you eh.

Said it last summer but if Wenger gambles again on the fitness of players that have never been able to play a full season,we are in trouble . Well that list has doubled now :

    Walcott
    Rosicky
    R V P
    Eduardo

If those four are still part of our squad of 7 or 8 attacking players, come August, it will be the same story as the last 2 seasons.

    So do I

But I am dreading going into the next season knowing that its going to all end in tears again, just as I feared that it would last summer.

That is why I fear that Wenger is doing a lot of long term damage to this club.

And I’ve already convinced myself that Cesc will leave this summer,we all knew he would one day anyway but I think that the time is about to come & he will leave for Barca.

A huge part of that will be that he will have lost faith in Wenger because of his inabilities to improve this team.

Cesc is different – qui l,emporti tindra.

Why The Arsenal world has certainly seemed to have a lot of meltdown look about it.
What are the facts regarding this transfer based on a RUMOUR column in a Skysport Spanish reporter. This RUMOUR has been fed by Cesc’s comments re his DNA and that he hopes his future is settled before the World Cup starts. The Spanish Press seems to be about Villa to Barça for 40mil AND reports from ENGLAND that Cesc wishes to play for Barça. A merry-go-round that I am surprised that Vic C has even bothered to get involved.
As FTK, incidentally why did you buy a place in Barcelona recently (?), íandate a la concha de tu madre! to the rumour mongers amongst you!!

Have heart guys, let the boy go back home and win major trophies and get paid real money and keep more of it; let him enjoy the sunshine that he has missed for the past 7 years in London, let him enjoy playing with players that he was groomed along side at Barcas acad; let him speak in Spanish again,; let him hear his name called by 90,000 each week; let him lift the Champions League Cup; enjoy the windfall that Arsenal will receive after using a loop hole to shoplifting from Barca for nothing.

i have never thought the answer to Arsenals problem was to throw £100mil at it every summer. I dont think any Gooner has ever wanted that. but what we have wanted to see is for the club to stop letting our best leave for peanuts (Henry, Diarra) or free (flamini, Edu) and instead add to that base of quality.

A transfer policy that was even modestly more aggresive would have translated into titles and honours from which the prize money would have offset the extra expenditure. Instead the current policy and structure has left us with the reputation of a team who is never able to compete and can’t defend throw-ins.

We’re now the team our best players need to leave if the want a better chance of acheiving something!! If Wenger wanted Cesc to stay willingly then he should have made sure that he was playing in a team capable of matching his ambition, not scrambling at his feet 5 years later promising to finally take the blinkers off!!

the irony is now wenger will probably have to spend £100mil now and January to repair the holes the past 5 years have left in the team.
