Early-bird Wilshere ready for battle

Jack-Wilshire

by CARL ELDRIDGE Jack Wilshere is up for it today when West Brom head for the home of football for a Premier League encounter that is a must-win for us if we have any hope of challenging for the title. Three points up for grabs and must be taken, no messing.

The Boy Wonder was up with the larks and told his Twitter family at around 6am: “I am up early and looking forward to it.” A player who loves to play. Bring it on Jack the lad!

Meanwhile, AW has his say on the finances at the Arsenal in the papers this morning after the club announced record pre-tax profits of £56million.

He said: “We make a profit because we don’t spend – simple as that.  What is unbelievable, is that people approach me for making a profit but no one says a word to those who lose money. I’m not afraid to spend money but I manage in a safe way. It now looks like we are in a business where the quality is to lose money.

“If I always bought players then Jack Wilshere wouldn’t have come through. You cannot have everything. I know that and I’ve been in the job long enough to have a development policy to educate the players. The most difficult thing is to play them and to stand up for it.”

AW adds that he and the club produce the best players around even if they don’t play for us.  “One day, I will show you a list of those at the top level who have made careers with me. You will be absolutely astonished. You need to be strong to do this.”

The team news is that we are without Cesc, Theo, RVP while Thomas Vermaelen and Abou Diaby are also major doubts. Tomas Rosicky and Emmanuel Eboué face late fitness tests.

Right I am off to the game…

Who’s development would have been blighted if Arsene had bought a ‘keeper this summer?

Mannone and Sczczeny are no nearer to the first team and Flapihandski shows no sign of improvement.

All we are saying….. sign us a ‘keeper!!!

Is Manuel Almunia morphing into a good ‘keeper? He saved a penalty!!! mind you he gave the pen away in the first place.

Not quite the Rip-Roaring Reds in the first half.

Arsenal can play a lot better than that! Can West Brom?

    C’mon The Gunners!!!
