I watched the game in Club Level yesterday and not even the free booze at half-time could lift my spirits watching a very frustrating encounter unfold at the home of football. My host necked EIGHT wines during the break. EIGHT! Yes, Mr Fabianksi, you are enough to drive a man to drink.
Get Chesney in goal now. No messing. And offer MA1 and Flappy a loan spell at Swindown Supermarine, surely the best named club in the world, other than the (once) mighty Arsenal. A few home truths. The back five who played for us against Newcastle just ain’t good enough. Not at the top end. The two full-backs have lost the ability to defend and offer very little going forward. Indeed they and their careers at the Arsenal are going backwards. I’d rather have Eboue right-back – and in goal for that matter – and as soon as Gibbs is fit hand him the berth. The two central defenders, Squillaci and Koscielny, can’t play together to the degree they need to. We would get away with the former to play alongside TV5 when he is fit.
Midfield: Have you ever seen Cesc play so poorly? Granted one or two of our chances go in and we win easily. But they didn’t. Too many ‘off’ days for our players. Chelsea bleedin’ lose and we stand still. The Mancs must be pissing themselves. Up front Chamakh looked off the pace, Theo ditto. RVP is back but for how long? Arshavin needs to get his finger out. In Arsene we trust? We’ll see all about the resolve we have in the ranks at Wolves on Wednesday night. They almost snatched a cdraw at Very Old Trafford so will be smarting and out to give us a hiding. We’ll know just how good we are come the 90 minutes at Molineux.
Take heart. Young Rambo plays for the reserves later and we wish him well and pray he can get his flourishing career back on track. I am off to lay down in a dark room.
