Cesc Fabregas won’t make a summer switch to Barcelona from the Arsenal, we have been told. The Nou Camp have had our skipper on their radar for a good few seasons now and the on-off saga of “will he or won’t he” move back to his boyhood club has tediously rumbled on.
But our man on the inside – who works with the players on a weekly basis – says Arsene Wenger is aware that Pep Guardiola has no desire to spend up to £40m on a player who will effectively be a bench-warmer. That is not to say Cesc won’t go elsewhere, although it is fair to say probably not Real Madrid!
This summer is without doubt a watershed at the Emirates. We have heard tales that AW has lost the changing room and I have been told one story that Cesc and RVP control the players. Again, I am merely a conduit – messenger, shots etc etc.
So would Cesc make a move to another Premier League side? Chelsea and Manchester City certainly have the readies, as, of course, do Manchester United. Would we miss him – Jack Wilshere will certainly flourish as will Aaron Ramsey, as was shown against United at the weekend. Yes, of course we’d miss him…he is a world class players and you can enver have enough good players especially with out uinjury track record.
The club have just announced a rise in season tickets. What better way to galvanise supporters, some of whom are reluctant to renew*, than to announce Cesc is going nowhere and save us a summer of infuriating speculation?
