Song: Arsenal have an attitude problem

Songgoal

Arsenal midfielder Alex Song believes the team’s approach in some games last season was flawed, and this is one thing that has to change next year.

The Gunners had arguably the easiest looking run-in at the end of the season, but dropped points to teams like Bolton and Stoke, who they would have expected to beat, especially after notching a 1-0 victory over eventual champions Manchester United.

The 23-year-old now believes a break for the summer is just what some of the players need, in order to mentally prepare for next season.

He said: “Sometimes we get on the pitch and we think ‘this game will be won easily’ that is something that we have to change. Because when you think you are going to win a game, and you don’t, it knocks the team.

“You can’t play a game against Manchester United and lose against Bolton in the game before that.

“I think we need to have the same mentality whether we play Bolton or Manchester United. I think we need to learn from this to be ready for next season.

“We didn’t do what we wanted to do this year, we finished fourth and I think we lacked something this year,” he added.

“It’s very important that for next season that we don’t make the same mistakes. It will be good to get away on our holidays and when we get back, we will know what we have to do for next season.

“We will be ready for the challenge and it’s very important for us to win something next season, because we missed something this year and were very close.

I'm 23-years-old and currently living in Bristol, studying to be a journalist. I've been hooked on Arsenal since I was about 10, and as much as I sometimes wish I could stop, I can't give them up. Favourite player of all time would have to be Patrick Vieira for the sheer passion with which he played the game.

No one is going to care about next season until we’ve shifted quite a few players.

But Wenger said ‘The players had a fantastic attitude all season’. So he’s being contradicted by those very same players.

Bad attitudes … that’s because they were tolerated by wenger who prefer to behave like a father instead of a proper boss/manager. How else do you tolerate abysmal players like denilson and almunia for years? Mind you, denilson even had the cheek to spite the club for not winning any trophy or title when in fact he’s arguably one of the main cause and problem. Almunia was even made captain, and suggested by Wenger to be England’s potential keeper!!! Wenger knows…?

Outside of Mr Magic (Messi), who like Mascherano is from the Argentine, Daniel from Brazil and Abidal (France) the entire Barcelona team is Spanish, all nine of them (including the bench). They all speak a common language and have similar emotions, bonding is easy, so is pride ,it`s a national pride.
Imagine if Arsenal had nine English, two Scottish and a Welshman. Rule Britannia.

OK, that`s a silly statement but when it comes to `attitude` an easy flowing atmosphere in the dressing room helps.
I remember Cole (or was it his mother)
saying “he feels like an alien in the Arsenal dressing room, everybody speaks French”.

why not the manager? What a shame! Wenger cannot buy. He cannot plan. He cant attune tactics depending on opposition – all we see is the same tip-tap-pass-piss. Now we know he cant EVEN PEP-TALK PLAYERS. He has to go.

This video features fantastic long range goals scored throughout Arsenal

I believe long range shooting is also a problem for Arsenal…..atleast in past two seasons i have not seen a single goal which can (leave alone match) stand near the goals shown in above video !!!
    SHOOT FOR GODSAKE….DON’T PASS WHEN U R IN THE D !!!

Just another in a very long line of problems with our team. Its all down to the manager, any proper manager would heave “slaughtered” the team for drifting away in games, but not wenger..he lets it happen then picks on some random factor to comment on. Ive had a bellyful of the incompetent, feeble, over-analytical, charlatan that actually believes he is doing a good job.
Deluded arrogant idiot! I really wish he would go and let our club get back to its roots and become the respected (even if labelled boring at times)club…not the butt of every opposition fans jokes.

Wengers fault — what are managers for if not preparing properly for games amd some fighting spirit.

Wenger failed to stop a two month post carlimg cup slide to relegation form. So what is he and the 6 millon quid we pay him good for??

And people think it will be different next time. Rubbish — he has lost his edge and thats it. 2 more seasons of this failure to go.
