Wenger back in for Jagielka from Everton to Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has reportedly rekindled his interest in Everton’s Phil Jagielka to take him to Arsenal to boost the Gunners defence. But it seems he will be frustarted in his attempts to land the Toffees star.

As the transfer merry-go-round rumours oscillate wildly (remember that Mozza song?), the Daily Mail claims this morning that AW has gone back in for Jagielka but has also lined up Birmingham’s Scott Dann if he can’t persuade Everton to sell. Quite where this lifts Chris Samba only Dennis knows.

AW is said to have made a bid for Jagielka (think they wanted £17m) last summer only to be turned away and he is facing a similar episode this time with David Moyes unwilling to sell.

Newspaper reports say AW will spend around £60m with some of that money coming from flogging Gael Clichy to, depending on what paper you read, Liverpool, Roma or PSG. The Mirror claims the Kop club are determined to land Clichy, even though AW is trying to block any deal. They add that the player will “dig his heels in” and insist he wants to go to Anfield. Cuban heels, one would take it? Anything higher would surely cast aspertions.

Right, will add to this in ten mins…boiled eggs and toast and marmalade just arrived courtesy of Mrs EldoMedia. (Pause) Mmm, not bad, eggs could have been runnier, soldiers just right.

Right on to the rest of the rags…back to the Mirror, who report that Cesc Fabregas has revealed his admiration for Pep Guardiola (what a bombshell, who’d have thunk it?). The paper says he was speaking on a visit to Indonesia when he told the Spanish press “my greatest idol is Guardiola”. What, not Denilson?

BTW, which paper hates Arsenal most do you reckon? Got to be the T******** Bugle I reckon. But which national? They have all got agendas…is it me or is the Mirror quite sympatheic to us? Think on… (with thanks to Billy Liar).

I personally spoke to the lad on Monday afternoon and he is DEFINITELY not leaving Everton. Chelsea had also come in with an enquiry but were also told no dice.
    Cheers. Mark

Myself i dont find the attraction of the bid I can not see him making vast improvements and rank him in a lesser category then before mentioned samba as well as sahko who i believe more fit the teams dynamics

WE HAVE BEEN READING TOO MANY STORIES ABOUT WHAT THIS OLD FRENCH WANTS TO DO. IS HE SERIOUS IN BUYING? ELSE, DEAR AW, YOU HAVE BROUGHT ENOUGH GLORY TO ARSENAL. AND, OVER THE LAST 6 YEARS WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING EVEN MORE GLOOM, DESPAIR AND DISGRACE THAN THE MEASURE OF GLORY WE HAVE SEEN UNDER YOU. IF YOU DONT BUY, GO!!!! PLEASE GO AWAY!!!

ONLY IF WENGER SPENDS ON BUYING TOP QUALITY PLAYERS, THE TEAM WILL GET A MESSAGE: THIS YEAR HAS TO BE A TROPHY YEAR. AND, ONLY THEN WILL THE TEAM PLAY TO WIN. ELSE, IT WILL BE THE SAME STORY. SO, WENGER….BUY. AND, BUY NOW! ELSE, LEAVE. JUST LEAVE NOW!!!

All these stories about who his goign to sign. Here is some news for you all. He is going to sign anyone experinced, he will sign unkwon 35 yar old players or 16 year old kids. Wenger has become a joke, even to sign a player from blackburn samba it has become a drawn out saga, wenger makes every transfer a bloody saga, even for the most simplest of players. imagine if he wanted to trully sign a world class player, it would probably take him 50 years.

Fully agree with gats. Really sick of transfer sagas, every one drawn out until all the ‘joy’ is taken out of it. Also the players targeted must wonder if Wenger really wants them ! Transfers are meant to boost squads and fans…..every summer Wenger’s delays, penny pinching and eventual purchase of ‘lesser options’ brings us all (club, players and fans) down……BUY, BUY WHAT WE NEED……OR GO

    agree agree agree

but still the AW lackeys are all around every website. Does AW pay these asses to put ‘dislikes’ and ‘-ves’ on any comment on any site which does does not lick AW’s sick, old ass.

First, it was Cahill, then come Samba and now Jagielka. At the end or rather beginning of new season,it will be ‘Alex Song’. With Wenger’s stingy with his spending, don’t expect too much hope.

Maybe if you didn’t read the papers and only looked at arsenal.com then you wouldn’t get so disappointed by the fact that we don’t sign 99% of the players we are linked with.

Personally I find it better to assume that every story about any player we are linked with is made up by the evil money grabbing media!!
