Samir Nasri will see out the year remaining on his contract and leave Arsenal on a free next summer. The Sun claims the French midfielder has told team-mates he won’t put pen to paper on a new deal at the club.
The paper says he will snub the £115,000-a-week contract being offered by Arsene Wenger to try to get Arsenal to accept a £20million move to Manchester City.
When asked if Nasri’s future at Arsenal is sorted, the paper reports that AW said: “Not completely but I want him to stay. He knows that. Hopefully we can sort that out in the coming weeks.”
The rip-roaring Reds face Cologne in Germany this afternoon and we should get the first glimpse of Gervinho in an Arsenal shirt. Coverage of the game starts at 2.30pm GMT on ESPN for those who haven’t travelled.
One more thing, I have declared the back-page round-up a Fabregas Free Zone for the forseeable future. I can’t be alone in feeling totally hacked off with the “will he, won’t he” move to Farcelona so have take the decision to swerve the issue until something concrete occurs.
