Wenger ups offer to £15m to take Jagielka to Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has raised his offer to take Everton defender Phil Jagielka to Arsenal for £15m, says the Daily Telegraph.

The paper says AW has launched a renewed attempt to sign Jagielka and is hopeful a deal can be completed within 48 hours. He bid £10 million last week and might be prepared to go as far as £15 million. Everton value Jagielka at more like £18 million and the two clubs were still in negotiations yesterday.

AW has also moved to end uncertainty over Cesc Fabregas by informing Barcelona to meet £40m valuation by Sunday or they must accept that they will have to forget signing the midfielder.

Indeed, AW has reportedly sent Barcelona’s president Sandro Rosell an email telling him to buy Cesc Fabregas for £40m by, according to the Mirror this time, August 5 or to forget it.

Meanwhile, we also appear to be close to wrapping up the deal for Valencia winger Juan Mata for £19m after the 23-year-old told pals he was moving to the London.

Next up and the Mail suggests that Ryo Miyaichi could return to Feyenoord on loan despite impressing in pre-season. The Japanese starlet is awaiting a work permit from the Home Office.

Great news on Mata but there’s an apparent interest by Man C now that Nasri is staying, hopefully Mata has a bit of Arsenal DNA hidden inside.

    Barca DNA explained:

Seems like the papers have just added £3 or 4 million to both of these transfer rumours over night and for no apparent reason. They clearly don’t know what the details are.

How come Miyaichi can play in Holland but can’t get a work permit in this country? Are not both countries subject to the same EU regulations?

no chance, jags is alot better than samba. He is a bulldog and an england international. Not to mention a good backup keeper haha. Cahill would be better due to his age and height but bolton are playing hard ball, if they don’t snap out of it he will go for free next season. Vertonghen would be a better choice (better understanding with verm, good backup DM, and cheaper)

Our ‘work permit’ rules are tougher.
Most of our lads go to spain (wellington etc) for this reason.

£15m for Jagielka and for £2m more we could have Cahill (though in his last year, should have been valued lower).

Not to mention the likes of Diego Godin (A.Madrid), Jan Vertonghen (Ajax) and perhaps Rolando (Porto) and Benedikt Howedes (Cpt of Schalke)

    Breaking News!!….Shock Horror!!

Diaby is not likely to be fit for the start of the season. The ever present player (that’s ever present in the treatment room) is to undergo surgery on his dodgy ankle.

Why does this player remain at the club? He is a complete waste of a squad number and should be disposed of as soon as possible. I can’t remember him starting two games on the trot.

Yeah I don’t really understand that. If we let in thousands of people to become cleaners, cooks and the like (and I’m not saying that’s a bad thing) then I’m not sure why we refuse to allow football players, who will be paying alot more income tax, and who have more ‘skills’ (no pun intended) than the majority of immigrants who are let in.

This is old news JIN. We’ve known for ages that your pet hate abou would be having ankle surgery. I just don’t know why it took them so long to do it.
