Wenger set to land trio for Arsenal with £50m spree

Arsene Wenger will dig deep and splash the cash on new recruits for the Arsenal, claims the Mirror this morning..

AW has bid £15million and £20m-plus in for Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila and Lille striker Eden Hazard. And is also said to be going back in for Everton defender Phil Jagielka, says the paper. So around £50million outlay then? Hmm.

The Mail, meanwhile, claims Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has hinted the club may abandon their bid to sign Samir Nasri if he plays in the Champions League for Arsenal on Wednesday.

Nasri played in the 2-0 Premier League defeat by Liverpool after his £22million move to City was held up by a wrangle over agents’ fees, says the paper. Mancini said after City’s 3-2 win at Bolton he hoped to sign Nasri within 24 hours and when asked if the club may look elsewhere if the deal doesn’t get done, he said: “I don’t know. It’s possible but, hopefully, we close in the next 24 hours. If he plays in the Champions League it is a big problem for us. I hope we can have Nasri in the next day but I don’t know when. “We have followed him for 40 days and it’s important we take him. I don’t know why we haven’t closed this.”

It is also reported this morning that Arsenal are set to open talks with Lazio striker Mauro Zarate and hope to have the Argentine in the squad in time for the weekend’s match against Manchester United.

If the number of clicks its having is anything to go by, this story is gaining popularity. Probably because it makes more sense than thinking the manager had gone completely insane.

However we can’t know how much truth there is to it unless the source is named.

You’ve seen the way we’ve been playing, Wenger will have to bring more players in it’s obvious.

He knows Arsenal can’t challenge for the title with the current squad.

So Liverpool were their usual negative side with Andy Carroll woeful ,only one header on target in 90 mins. and playing an Arsenal side shorn of most of it,s experienced
players,Cesc,Song,Rosicky,Djourou,Diaby ,Bendtner,Chamakh,Wilshere,Dalglish came for his usual draw but got lucky with an own goal and a clearly offsides Suarez
who didn,t go back onside  before scoring his goal, but why didn,t Dalglish start with
Suarez and Maxi (Rodriguez)only bringing on Suarez in the 70 th min. with Frimpon
g,s red card ,rather obvious,a draw was clearly on the cards,he got lucky, this time ?

Wenger must sign an experienced left back, we cannot go through the season with the injury prone Gibbs and the less than mediocre Traore.  Playing either of our best defenders, Vermaelen and Sagna, out of position will prove to be suicidal.  We missed out on Jose Enriques, now we must go for Leighton Baines.

As usual its just talk. You supporters who buy tickets and go and watch matches please state your case and let your voice be heard loud and clear. Think its now or never for arsenal, need big signings now or will find it hard to attract big players in the future. Parker would be a great addition, keep nasri/ get Martin, Hazzard and Cahill would put arsenal right back in contention. Altho i cant see it happening.

Am I the only one happy that we are struggling. My Club has sold it soul over the last fifteen years, I am pleased that we will lose the mercenaries, have players ( although not world beaters) who care about the shirt and hopefully about 20, 000 less yuppies populating the souless bowl we call a stadium. The plus side is a relegation battle will be interesting and fun.. If we go down my season ticket will be cheaper and some great games against Cardiff, W. Ham and Leeds. Embrace the pain. We might get our club back.

So you want us to get relegated? Arsenal got themselves one of the best stadiums in the world and in 2 or 3 years, we will be completely DEBT FREE. How is that ‘selling our soul’. Aka we will be richest club in the world. Manure has £700m debt. Barca and Real Madrid also have loads of debt. Not to mention Chelsea and Man City who are only competing due to their billionaire owners. HOW ARE ARSENAL THE ONES THAT HAVE SOLD THEIR SOULS??? Saying that AND saying relegation will be fun is both stupid and insulting to the club. So yes, you ARE the only one enjoying the struggle.

We may have Zarate in time for the Man united game?????

That fact that we have soo many injuries and suspensions is the exact reason why Wenger won’t buy anyone. He may say he wants Cahill or Jagielka but is not willing to pay the money for them. We as Arsenal fans have had to endure this for god knows when.

I remember back in 1999 when we signed Davor suker, Thierry Henry, luzhny and Silvinho to strengthen a team including Seaman, Adams, Keown, Bergkamp, Overmars, Kanu, Petit, Parlour and Vieira.

This is getting beyond a joke. I don’t want signings to appease the fans or stop the youth products coming through, but players that will give their all for Arsenal.

    We don’t have that right now, the season has just started and we’re already without the same sicknotes from last year;

    Diaby, Gibbs, Rosicky.

And honestly is Jenkinson a bettr right back than Eboue??? I don’t think so, hell even denilson wouldn’t have given the ball away as much as Arshavin did on Saturday.

The most depressing thing is that there will be no surprises, we’ll attempt to sign Kaka, Mata, Hazard but only because we will offer £7m less than their valuation and try to negotiate or should I say haggle with player fees, and prices. Expect an unknown 17yo or a well over the hill centre back in the form of Sylvestre/Squillaci.

Season has begun and it does look gloomy already I want to eat my words but I fear I may be correct on this one

Drinking from the Kool Aid of Arsenalnewsreview. Get real, Arsenal is overachieving with the resource the club has. Time to leave delusion and accept the fact that we can never compete with City, United and Chelsea financially unless a player clearly loves Arsenal. I long accepted the change the day Abramhovic bought Chelsea, since then transfers have never been the same. Enjoy the Arsenal games we manage to win, savour the fact that we still manage to see Champions League football and accept the defeats when they come, knowing there are three clubs ahead of you that can and will attract the better players any day any time.
As a postscript; Koscienly ensured we were 4th on the league table last year and a lot of you guys think we should pay top Pounds for some defenders who managed to keep their teams mid table. Get Real Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

We don’t have the team to compete for championship, everybody knows except Mr. France, with this squad everyone knows even Arsenal players that we’re not matured enough to qualify even for Europa league….why not Wenger??? this is bullshit  don’t we have another alternative? look Mata is finally complete his saga to Chelsea, who else to replace Fab4?Nasri is on his way to Man see Money….who else? I swear with this kind of squad we have…..our chance is EUROPA league not Champions league..Never Ever.

We haven’t made any signings yet because they fully depend on us qualifying for the champions league. Players like hazard already have that opportunity so why would they move? In these troubled times it is the real Arsenal fans that stand behind the team. I was one who moaned early but i realized i don’t need to as Wenger will get us out of this mess. First we need to get into the champions league, then lets get the players we need and go from there.
Lets not forget the great entertaining football we play. I sometimes watch some of the other clubs and some of the football is so boring,  long balls and real negative football. We have been really blessed with the incredible football our team play.
Lets get behind Wenger, he will buy, and we will surprise this year.

We must remember that Man City have bought 2 team of top quality and spent 300-400 Million in 2 years , how can we possible compete with that. Players don’t go there for the money, yea right.

Dream on, wishful thinking all this. The most he has bought in any summer is three which he has, including the usual two teenagers.

There is a week left no way there is bandwidth to get three deals done. Mata and hazard have given us the finger as if today. Why? Because no top class player wants to come to a losing team in a clear crisis. Why would you? Three years ago maybe. Wenger is likely to get axed at the end of this season no tip class player wants to find himself put of favor with a new manager.

The club has utterly bungled the transfer window so we could hold out for an extra 2-3 million for Fabregas when we needed to get settled and focus on buying. Now we are weakened and running out of time.
