RVP and Park-Ju Young in goal mood ahead of Swansea clash

Robin Van Persie smashed in four goals and Ju Young hammered home a hat-ttrick. Alas, not for the Arsenal. The strikers were last night on international duty for Holland and South Korea respectively. Seemingly, we will have to wait to see if the frontmen can deliver goals in that number against Swansea next week. Here’s hoping.

Oh, and Rambo nicked one for Wales, too.

So to the papers and Gooner goings on in general in the media this morning. Disturbingly this is doing the rounds: United States midfielder Clint Dempsey claims there was “interest from many clubs, including Arsenal” during the transfer window, but insists he is committed to current club Fulham.

Don’t think so, pal. Clint Eastwood, maybe.

Theo played for England last night in the 3-0 win over one of the Wombles but it was an Arsenal target, Gary Cahill who caught the eye and nabbed a goal. And in this morning’s Mirror Bolton winger Martin Petrov says Premier League clubs such as Arsenal missed a trick by not buying team-mate Gary Cahill.

Meanwhile, Jack Wilshere has given his approval by retweeting a fan-created Twitter photo, poking fun at Arsenal teammate Andrey Arshavin’s lack of height compared to deadline day signing Per Mertesacker, says the Metro – see the pic here.

Talking of the boy wonder, he will be live on the phone with Ian Wright from 5.45pm on Absolute Radio extras ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Football Live’. DAB Digital Radio, 1215AM and online in the UK www.absoluteradio.co.uk/extra  - may be worth tuning in to see what he makes of our new recruits.

Now for a plug for a mate of mine who along with some other old skool Arsenal have a Gooner band – The Riders of the Night – and the lads have a new CD out, entitled, Kerb Crawler. Well worth a listen and funny as you like for obvious reasons.  Check out their deets here…the online Shop to buy the CD, or you can download  from iTunes.

I urge you to have a listen.

More news as it breaks. Yeah, right.

eldo71 like what you did with the manager of your arsenal all time dream team, with the combination of the two greatest manager of all time for arsenal in arsene wenger and herbert chapman. in response to the round up i have to disagree with martin petrov because if cahill was really that good one of the big teams would have paid 10-15 mil for him plus the asking price of 17 million is an extorcionate amount for some one who is only just starting to play internationally and is in the final year of his contract. plus we got in my opinion and better, taller and more internationally capped centre back in per mertesacker for a lot less money. as for signing of the summer i would love to hear your verdict but i think it is between gerviniho, mertesacker and arteta

Signing of the summer? Only time will tell but my money is on Gervinho.

Also Park will surprise many people and I guess the only reason we got him so cheap was because monaco just got relegated and as it stands he will have to do military service in a couple of years. Heard from people who watch french football that he’s a classy finisher and has excellent movement and works really hard. Personally I would start him through the middle and play RvP on the right as he does for Holland.
