Wenger on Arsenal alert as Cahill hints at Bolton exit

Bolton defender Gary Cahill has opened the door to a move to Arsenal in January by stating that his dream remains to play European football. Arsene Wenger was in for the stopper throughout the summer but the clubs couldn’t agree a fee.

But there is every chance AW will be back in for the England player and it seems he is ready to leave the Reebok and possibly join the Gunners.

He is quoted this morning as saying: “As a professional footballer in general you want to strive and be the best you can and try to get to the highest level you can. Playing European football would be fantastic but as it is at the minute I’m not doing that so all I can do is put my performances in for Bolton Wanderers.”

Surely that will put AW on alert given the injury news about TV5. Yes, he’ll be fit by January but his injury proves we need more cover at the back.

Meanwhile AW has been talking about his struggles at the club in the wake of a difficult time. He told the Mail:  “In my job you expect to suffer. So that’s why, when I go to hell one day, it will be less painful for me than for you, because I’m used to suffering. I could write a book about the summer. I think it would be an interesting one.  It was the most disturbed  pre-season we have had since I have been here.”

The paper says AW admitted Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott needed reassurances about the club’s ambition after Fabregas and Nasri departed. He added: “There was maybe more uncertainty about our potential and our determination to strengthen.”

Another yarn doing the rounds is that Arsenal could make a move for PSV Eindhoven’s Sweden striker Ola Toivonen in the January transfer window.

I think it was also u that rubbished his article when he published that TV5 has had surgery on his ankle. He was however proved to be right. No apologies coming from u then, therefore my advice to u is put up or shut up!!! Moppet!
