Kroenke speaks! He backs Arsenal boss Wenger

Stan Kroenke has given an interview to offer his full support to Arsenal boss manager Arsene Wenger. American billionaire Kroenke became the club’s majority shareholder this year and insists AW has earned the right to decide how long he stays in charge at the Ems.

He said: “With Arsene, it’s his decision and only he will know that. He is one of my favourite people I have met in the last 20 years. He is a great person and I love the way he handles himself. I love his focus.

“He is a very intelligent guy. You can talk to him about anything and, when he starts talking to people, I really love to listen to him. He should hold seminars. I have tremendous confidence in him. He is one of the great managers in the world. Arsene’s our man.”

Silent Stan no longer, eh?

Now then, Wenger is considering making a £10m bid for Werder Bremen midfielder Marko Marin, a 22-year-old German international. That is one of the tales doing the rounds this morning in other news pertaining to the rip-roaring reds. Hogwash? Who can tell. We’ll know come January.

Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has revealed he snubbed Manchester United, Liverpool and T******** to join Arsene Wenger’s side after watching the Gunners’ Champions League victory over Barcelona last season. That one is in the Mirror if you need to read more.

Elsewhere and former Arsenal captain Frank McLintock believes the current Gunners squad are the “poorest” he has ever seen. What, ever? What about the early 80s or mid 70s, Frank?

Finally, congratulations to Jack Wilshere who became a dad yesterday. His girlfriend Lauren gave birth to a boy…”Arsene, sign him up!”

frank mclintock….a fantastic captain of the great double winning team in ’71, has an opinion that should be respected at least. He may have stretched the comparisons a little but the main point of the argument is that we have a poor team comparitively. This is a fact if the results from march are analysed.
kroenke would back arsene wenger as he has money interests as a priority. Wenger is an educated academic which fits  perfectly in the boardroom. He may be able to discuss economics and general business matters, but as a football coach there seems to be enormous holes in his knowledge, common sense and understanding…particularly on defensive aspects of the game.
We are fortunate that the lad oxo chose us..had he waited a few more months when we capitualated in the league, he may have gone elsewhere. This lad will be a very good and consistent performer for arsenal.

Its bollocks. The reason Oxo chose arsenal was because he knew he would get a chance much earlier than at any other club. And he would have been right. Already playing in the champions league after only a month at the club and at just 18? Can you imagine him playing in the cl for any of the other english clubs? Hell no.

I really hope I’m wrong and we can turn it around but if we aren’t winning things in a few years time, he will use arsenal as a stepping stone to bigger things like so many other players have tried to do. Some failed some succeeded.

But regardless of that, we are still lucky to have him at the club for the time we do.

The other reason that might have played a small part is that we offer much more money all round for young players. Same reason Ramsey is at arsenal and not man u. Arsenal are prepared to pay higher transfer fees and higher wages to young players. Its a shame Arsene has such a poor record of turning young players with potential into top quality first team players because being good at that really would have helped with that strategy.

Read the whole article at http://www.tetegraph.co.uk/sport .  It doesn’t really tell us a lot but does seem to guarantee Wenger’s position at least as long as (not so) Silent Stan is around.

What is really worrying, is also reported in the Telegraph, That Tevez will be sold in January and City have lined up van Persie as a replacement, expect a £20 million plus offer.

Has van Persie been “tapped up”?  is this the reason that he doesn’t want to sign a new contract?  if so then Arsenal need to report City to the Premier League so that appropriate action can be taken.

Wilshire a father? Bloody hell can’t these kids learn to keep it in their trousers?

Everyone is tapped up now JIN nothing can be done about it, most of it happens when they are laying about on international duty, bet your life De Jong has got to him and he has said too right I will sign..dare say Nasri has put a little word in too, or Clichy or Toure..bloody wrong but nowt can be done to prevent mates talking and exploring a level of interest.

Silent stan giving wenger the dreaded vote of confidence?
    He’ll be sacked by christmas!

Oh wait i forgot. If they sack him, they will have to pay him lots of money. That won’t be in line with their “financial sustainability”. Probably just do nothing and hope that we can somehow fluke our way to fourth place.

Wenger, Kroenke and the board are all happy with the status quo surrounding AFC.  They simply do not want change and that is why the club is floundering and being left behind by clubs such as Man U, City, Chelsea, Liverpool and, more worryingly, Newcastle, Stoke and Spurs.  I have loved this club since I was a young kid growing up in the seventies.  I can just about remember Terry Neils time in charge as well as Don Howe.  Arsenal were absolutely pathetic then and this current team is evey bit as bad.  Every time that Greek team came at them the other night they panicked.  Without Shezny (who I really rate), the crossbar and some poor finishing we would have lost.  The whole team lacks confidence and has absolutely no ‘mental strength’.  And you wonder why RVP wants out?
We need someone – anyone – to stand up and take charge.  But noybody seems to want to take responsibility.  I have no idea what Kroenke’s agenda is, but he doesn’t seem interested in furthering the club.  Wenger?  Surely he must be able to see the frailties of the team, then why doesn’t he do something about it?  Everyone seems to be happy to keep treading water.  Only trouble is, if you’re out of your depth you are going to drown.  This Sunday I think we’re going to get a good hiding.  I hope Sunday night I’m sitting here with egg running down my face…but I don’t think I will be.  Spurs are a better team than us, it’s that simple.  So for God’s sake will someone please grab this club by the scruff of its kneck and pull it from the abyss of being a feeder club for City and Barcelona!!!

The fact is that this Arsenal side has no guts, no real drive, no leader, and most important of all not one player who is Arsenal through and through and who would give his last ounce of sweat for the club he loves!  Ramsey and Walcott both lacked any real drive and certainly there was no passion for the club.  Even as recently as when Henry Pires & Vieira played they had been around the likes of Adams,Parlour,Keown etc to know what playing another London club and more specifically when Playing Sp*rs means!!!  you watch video/dvd of our French trio play Sp*rs….they knew what it meant and they put in that extra yard, made that tackle a bit harder!  Not one of the side yesterday showed that.  I believe that is what Wenger has lost..he had it ready made when he came to the club, it was passed on up to 2004, but then it began to be lost, and when Fab went the last link went!  What we need now is to get that feeling back, get that fight back in the club, the fight for the name of Arsenal…..maybe bringing Lansbury back and putting him in the centre with  Arteta would be a good start as he has ability but as he showed in the league cup last year , he has the drive……. then Wenger needs to go back to the George Graham method of bringing in English/British players (defenders like Dixon/Winterburn/Bould) from the lower leagues who are prepared to work and be crafted into a defensive Unit rather than keep bringing in average players, mainly from the continent and expecting them to perform in the EPL and then wondering why they fail!
