Van Persie puts new Arsenal deal on hold

Lots of Arsenal news filtering through this morning, not least of which is the report alerting us that Peter Hill-Wood does not expect to open contract talks with Robin van Persie until the end of the season.

RVP’s current deal is due to expire in 2013 and, obv, AW and the like are keen to get him to sign a new but apparently he does not want to do that until the summer.

“He doesn’t want to talk about it at the moment and we are not troubling him,” Hill-Wood told the Daily Star. “I think we will approach him near the end of the season. But we obviously hope that he will sign a new contract – I don’t see why he should not. I can’t believe he is unhappy with us.”

Hill-Wood reckons Van Persie has grown as a man since moving from Feyenoord in 2004. He added: “I think he is a decent fellow. He was quite difficult at Feyenoord, but we have had no trouble with him.”

Elsewhere, the Mail says we have entered the race to sign £8m-rated Rennes midfielder Tongo Hamed Doumbia. The Metro claims that midfielder Yann M’Vila, 21, who we made an unsuccessful bid for on transfer deadline day, says he is prepared to leave Rennes but not until after Euro 2012.

And, finally, the agent of Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia insists there has been no contact from Arsenal regarding a transfer and that the 24-year-old remains happy to stay in Lisbon.

Phew!

Van persie will wait and see if the club matches his ambition in the transfer market. The guy loves arsenal but it is completely understandable if he leaves this club as he deserves to win silverware. The past few seaswons he has been very frustrated at the lack of quality signings when the money is clearly available.

Parp parp..the old backdoor is starting to squeak around the silent greenhouse as the best player waits, some will believe it is about Arsenals transfer market activity, some will believe it is about their finish in the table, but we all know what it really is, it is about the agent and his fellow players who have tapped his availability up working furiously behind the scenes to get him at their club…The only word of comfort I can offer is that Spurs are on a par so he won’t do an Rsol on you !

He is not going anywhere he is playing the egotitical card, give it another 5 months of “don’t go Robin” and collectively you would have pushed his salary up at least another 40k a week..oldest trick in the book,

I think it is clear the first one is a wind up and the second is me saying ..”come on it is quite clear what he is playing at “  it doesn’t do well to take much too serious on here..according to most of the reports Arsenal are signing 3 new players a week. ha ha

How is this news?  It wasn’t anything we didn’t know already.  2 or 3 decent signings in the January window and give him the extra wages we don’t have to pay Bendtner anymore and the job’s a good’un.

I see Mashman is back to his normal ways, just cannot stop the little digs, it takes a real man to wait until he knows the outcome of a result and then steam in afterwards, true cowardness and sadness to be honest, keep going keep steaming in this chin is big enough to handle you all day long, if you are going to be an arrogant bloke like me you spend a lifetime batting off pesky little saddo flies who keep annoying you, like we were all queuing up to back the England win at 5/1 wasn’t we..can’t we just have a meet and settle this once and for all ? ha ha
