Wenger coy about his future at Arsenal

Arsene Wenger remains coy about his future at Arsenal in an interview with L’Equipe which is published today.

As the Gunners head for a Premier League clash with Norwich City at Carrow Road this lunchtime, it emerges that AW refuses to rule out leaving at the end of the season. Then again, he insists he wants to continue as our manager. So is he alluding to a forced removal one wonders? Might the decision be out of his hands?

AW said: “I have no wish to leave Arsenal. And the difficulties at the start of the season just strengthened my desire to fight. But we’ll look at things at the end of this one (season)”.

Quizzed on whether his Arsenal plans were long-term, he added: “No. For me we’re now talking short term, it’s obvious. But whether it’s with me or someone else, it changes nothing. My successor needs foundations on which he can be successful.”

AW also admits he suffered a setback in the summer when both Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas left the club. “It is hard to take that players wanted to the leave club. For first time I lost young players, who were reaching maturity. I suffered. It’s painful to lose key men you’d invested a lot in.”

Talking of Norwich, here is a snap of Santos and Yossi posted by the former on his Twitter page – they’re on the way to the game. COYG.

Bland statements which give no real indication of his intentions either way.

Of course present tactics are short term, recognition of the defensive frailties finally forced him into the purchase of Meretesacker and Santos, the loss of the Homesick Spaniard and Na£ri resulted in the the loan signing of Benayoun and purchase of Arteta.

The short-termism is designed to give breathing space and will eventually be abandoned in favour of youth development.

Let’s ignore the silliness of tabloid journalism and get behind the team and manager we have.

Norwich to be beaten this afternoon, C’mon the Gunners!!

I think Wenger would be mad to stay at a club that is not going to compete for honours, he has already eluded to the fact that the money clubs are almost impossible to beat over a season now and I see no reason why the greatest manager Arsenal have had would want to hang around now, yes he may love the club but he has had years in charge now and if we are to believe his statements as what he truly believes as a man then he has no need to continue in this farcical game we call football..go out on a high Arsene, because it will only get tougher at this rate, Clichy, Nasri and co will be holding a prem title aloft, nothing will stop them and they will get whoever they want be it Van Persie, Vermaelen , Modric, Bale..money is no object and I mean £300 k a week and £100 million ..Wenger should never be a man getting the abuse he took last year and early this season and I think quietly that may have made him realise that it is time to pack the suitcase and head off through the channel tunnel, with a last turn back, a smile and farewell..

You’ve fallen for the oldest trick in the book Bigsy, a few words taken out of context and a mountain is created where there wasn’t even a mole-hill, watch sky’s interview with Le Professeur and you will see a totally different story.

With regards to Meretesacker, I would rather him in my squad than any of the geriatric cripples laughingly called centre backs at your beloved club.

      2-1, 2-1, 2-1…2-1, 2-1, 2-1.

Man. City are heading for financial meltdown, a record trading loss of £197.5 million and a wage bill of £174 million will see them kicked out of European competitions and then all the greedy £uper £tars will find themselves if not out of work then out of Manchester.

      2-1, 2-1, 2-1.
