According to a report from Spanish outlet Marca, Arsenal are extremely close to completing the signing for Real Madrid’s Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos. The Gunners are said to have beaten their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of the 22-year-old despite an inferior transfer budget as well as the lack od Champions League football.
Arsenal take on Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup in the United States on Tuesday and the report reveals that an announcement of the signing could be made after the game. If the report is to be believed, Ceballos would be Arsenal’s second signing of the summer after young forward Gabriel Martinelli who has had a decent start to life as a Gunner.

Arsenal and Ceballos are both waiting on an answer from Real Madrid but a positive decision is expected by all parties involved. There is no news about a possibility of an option to buy inserted in his contract but Arsenal would definitely get the better deal if they can manage to get that included.
The Spaniard is expected to be a replacement for Aaron Ramsey who was released by the club at the end of last season. Ramsey would be a humungous loss for the Gunners but signing Ceballos would certainly soften the blow.
Ceballos starred for Spain in the recently concluded under-21 Championships and he is yet to join Real Madrid’s side who are set to take on the Gunners later today. Unai Emery’s side are unbeaten in their pre-season so far and a win against Los Blancos would fill them with immense confidence before heading back to London for the final stages of their preparation.
