Arsenal’s academy has been making headlines again this week.
Max Dowman made his Premier League debut against Leeds United on Saturday, and it’s fair to say Dowman impressed on his debut.
As ever, Hale End have some more exciting figures coming through right now.
Marli Salmon is making waves in the academy at a very young age, and now, it looks like Arsenal may have uncovered another young star.
Indeed, when the Arsenal U18s were in action on Tuesday, there was something very interesting to note on the teamsheet.

Callan Hamill already captaining Arsenal U18s
Arsenal’s U18s were in action on Tuesday, and while a Tuesday afternoon game against Peterborough isn’t all that important, there was something notable about the team the young Gunners put out.
Indeed, Callan Hamill was given the captain’s armband for this game, and that is very telling of how highly rated this young man is.
Hamill only joined Arsenal over the summer, and after just a few weeks at the club at the age of just 16, he’s captaining the U18 side.
Of course, that’s not quite as impressive as playing first-team football at the age of just 15, but the fact that Hammil has been given this sort of role so early in an age group two years up, shows how much he’s rated.
What’s been said about Callan Hamill
Callan Hamill looks like he could be a star for Arsenal in the future, and he’s already received rave reviews from those who have worked with him.
Indeed, his former St Johnstone coach, Alastair Stevenson, has previously praised Hamill’s ability, and, interestingly, his leadership.
“He is a very good leader and very mature for his age. He is a good all-round player and we have him quicker and more intelligent in terms of how the game is played,” He said, via The Metro.
“Callan knows what is required of him. He is a bit of a student of the game in many ways and has a fantastic attitude.”
Hamill appears to be a great leader with a good attitude, and that ability and mentality can take you a long way in football, particularly under a manager like Mikel Arteta.
