There has been a bit of an exodus in the Arsenal Academy recently.
The Gunners have one of the best youth setups in the world. Hale End has consistently produced incredible young players over the years, and there are many more to come.
Mikel Arteta has integrated the likes of Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri into the first team, while young Max Dowman is expected to be the next one to get called up.
However, the Arsenal Academy have lost quite a few players in recent years, and another one is now said to be on his way out.
Zane Monlouis is ‘on the verge’ of leaving Arsenal
Several young players have left the Arsenal Academy over the last few years.
Omari Hutchinson joined Chelsea, Reuell Walters moved to Luton Town, Amario Cozier-Duberry signed for Brighton and Hove Albion and Lino Sousa accepted an offer from Aston Villa.
Those departures were painful enough, but it got worse when Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven both left Arsenal to join Manchester United.
Now, another talented young player is about to leave – Zane Monlouis.
TSN reveal that MLS side Toronto FC are ‘on the verge’ of signing the Arsenal Academy defender on a permanent deal in the coming days.
Monlouis had entered the final six months of his contract, and like Heaven, he has decided to move on and pursue a career elsewhere.
The report adds that an official announcement is ‘imminent’, which suggests that the deal is almost done.

Who is Arsenal youngster Zane Monlouis?
Monlouis joined Arsenal in May 2012, when he was just eight years old.
The talented defender, now 21, came through the ranks at Hale End and became a regular for the Arsenal U18s and U21s sides. He even captained the latter on several occasions.
Monlouis has played a combined 99 games for the U18s and U21s, and he was even named on Mikel Arteta’s bench in Arsenal’s Champions League games against Shakhtar Donetsk and Monaco this season.
Now, it looks like he will be moving to Canada to make a career for himself in the MLS.
