Miguel has promised Arsenal fans that he’s one of them and will continue to show the utmost passion when first-team chances come along.
The 18-year-old made his senior Gunners debut on Thursday as Mikel Arteta’s side rounded off their Europa League campaign with a 4-2 win away to Dundalk in Dublin.
Azeez replaced Joe Willock with seven minutes left at The Aviva Stadium.
Asked by Arsenal’s official website what fans of the Emirates Stadium side can expect from him going forward, the teenage prospect said: “I will play with passion because I love the club. I’ve been here since the age of five so I’m an Arsenal fan through and through and obviously, I just want to give something back to the fans and play my best games every single day.”
With the North Londoners having no more Europa League group games this season, Azeez may struggle for more senior chances.
Even in the FA Cup, which could have thrown up a tie against lower-league opposition, Arsenal were paired with Newcastle United and as defending champions, Arteta has a responsibility to take the competition seriously.
It’s very possible that last night was Azeez’s first and final game for Arsenal this season, but this is another big talent and one who could have a big impact in the 2021-22 campaign.
