Edu Gaspar is reportedly in Brazil to meet with Gremio over Bitello, with the Arsenal official keen to bring the 23-year-old to north London.
According to UOL, the former Brazilian international is in Sao Paulo to discuss the signing of Bitello, with Arsenal keen on signing the ‘oustanding’ attacking midfielder as part of their summer spending spree.
The youngster is regarded as one of Gremio’s best players and a talent who is known for his attacking versatility and ability to create chances. And it appears that Bitello has caught Edu’s eyes, with the Arsenal transfer chief now in his homeland to bring the player to England.

Why Pele Is Overrated.
With Arsenal expected to move for an attack-minded player as backup for Bukayo Saka, Bitello has seemingly been identified as that player for the Gunners, with the Brazilian in-line with the sort of players Edu has brought to north London from South America.
Indeed, Gabriel Martinelli and Marquinhos have both been signed by Edu as left-field transfers from Brazil. And Bitello could be the latest, albeit the oldest, in this line of business, with the 23-year-old potentially taking a massive jump to the Premier League.

Edu is taking a big risk in pushing Arsenal to sign Bitello

Any big European club signing a talent from Brazil is immediately going to get people interested. Yet in the case of Arsenal and Bitello, we find ourselves in a unique case where a team is trying to bring in a player who is well past his teenage years and almost fully-developed.
Whilst there is good reason for Arsenal to be interested in Bitello, it is a big risk from Edu to try so hard to sign the Gremio superstar given his age. However, the north London official has more than enough credit in the bank to warrant a move like this.
