Inter Milan have reportedly contacted Arsenal over a move for striker Folarin Balogun, amidst talk that he could depart the Emirates this summer.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a highly successful loan spell at Reims in Ligue 1 last season, scoring 22 goals in 39 games, but may leave the club this summer given that Arsenal already have Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Leandro Trossard as striker options.

There are a lot of clubs circling around the USA international, and Inter have now turned their interests to him after missing out on Romelu Lukaku.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Inter have made an enquiry over the possible conditions of a deal with Arsenal, who are open to a permanent sale, but would want a significant fee for their in-demand star.

Why Pele Is Overrated.

Should Arsenal sell Balogun?

The young forward is rated very highly at the club, with Mikel Arteta describing him as “special,” but the best move for all parties would be a permanent move this summer.

Prior to his loan spell, Balogun had yet to impress in his albeit limited opportunities in North London, and he has claimed that he does not want to embark on another loan, nor does he want his minutes to be limited.

Arsenal already have a plethora of options in his position, and with Jesus the undisputed first choice, Balogun would struggle to gain regular starting opportunities next season.

Given the interest in him now, as well as the fact that he has two years remaining on his contract, his transfer value may never be higher than it currently is, and cashing in on him for a big fee could help Arsenal strengthen even further this summer.

They have already signed Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice for a significant outlay, and a big sale like Balogun could help them pursue other targets in the window.
