England are about to take on Italy in the final of Euro 2020 and The Telegraph have revealed that Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is set to be dropped.

The teenager has arguably been England’s most impressive player every time he has started. He has held his own against top-quality opposition, and many felt that it was almost a guarantee that he would start again in the final.

However, the report claims that Gareth Southgate will revert to a back-three against the Azzurri and Saka is set to make way for former Tottenham Hotspur star Kieran Trippier, who is expected to play at right wing-back.

Going with just two central midfielders against Italy’s formidable trio of Nicolo Barella, Jorginho and Marco Verratti is a risky move. Saka on the right and someone like Mason Mount or Jack Grealish in the number 10 role made more sense, but it looks like the Three Lions are going with a 3-4-3.

One of world football’s greatest ever managers, Jose Mourinho, was asked about this very issue a few days ago. He remained adamant that Saka would start (read here), but if the report is to be believed, Southgate has decided to drop the teenager, and Arsenal fans are furious.
