Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has urged Mikel Arteta and Edu to sign Youri Tielemans from Leicester City after Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal haven’t announced the signing of the Brazil striker just yet but leaked pictures and videos of the 25-year-old in a Gunners kit at the Emirates have been making the rounds on social media.

An announcement really does look imminent now, and Jesus is a fantastic signing. However, Edu and Arteta’s job is not done just yet. We need to bring in a few more players before the start of the new season.

Ray Parlour tells Arsenal to sign Youri Tielemans after Gabriel Jesus

Speaking on talkSPORT this week, the Romford Pele said, as quoted by HITC: “I think (Lisandro) Martinez is one. I know they are in for him from Ajax. I am looking down the spine of the team and I think that’s where they might strengthen.

“As you mentioned, Tielemans is a really good ball-player.

“They have got Partey, who had his injury problems last season. He missed quite a lot of games. You have got Lokonga, who is going to get better and he’s still young. But I think that’s the area. Xhaka is getting that little bit older. I think that’s the area they really need to look at.

“Get balls through the line and Tielemans would be ideal. Let’s hope, with my Arsenal hat on, they can somehow get him over the line, and in the ideal world, get everyone signed up by the (pre-season) tour.”

The Insider’s View:

Arsenal have already signed Marquinhos, Matt Turner and Fabio Vieira, while a deal for Jesus looks like it’s only a matter of time before it will be made official.

The obvious holes in our squad then will be in central midfield and in the left-side of our defence. Tielemans and Lisandro Martinez would be perfect for us, especially the former.

The Belgian international is a fantastic player and has proved his class in the Premier League already. Despite only being 25, he has tons of experience under his belt having played over 450 senior games for club and country over the years.

Tielemans really would be perfect for Arsenal’s midfield alongside Thomas Partey, but whether the Gunners will go back in for him remains to be seen.
