Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares has had a very difficult time on the pitch recently.

The young Portuguese left-back impressed everybody with his fearlessness early in the season and even kept Kieran Tierney on the bench for a while.

However, he has been substituted after 35 and 45 minutes respectively in his last two starts and that is not a great feeling at all. His confidence must have been shattered but we need him more than ever now.

Nuno Tavares posts Twitter message after frustrating week at Arsenal

Tavares took to Twitter today to express his personal frustration.

It’s clear to see that he’s hurting after his performance on Monday against Crystal Palace attracted severe criticism from all corners. But, he is prepared to learn from his mistakes and become better, which is absolutely fantastic to see.

“Monday was an extremely frustrating night for me personally, for the team and the fans. It’s important to pick ourselves up, learn from the mistakes and react positively for Saturday’s game. Still a lot to fight for. COYG,” Tavares wrote in his tweet.

Tavares will be the first one to admit he should’ve played better on Monday, but it is important for people to understand that he had played just one minute of football in the Premier League in 2022 before the game against Palace.

The ex-Benfica man is still only 21 years old and this is his first-ever season away from his home country. He will make mistakes, but he has the potential to become incredible, and Arsenal fans have to support him.

Gooners have done exactly that and Tavares has received immense backing on social media ahead of our game against Brighton on Saturday.
