Arsenal take on Leeds United in the Premier League this weekend as Mikel Arteta’s men look to get back to winning ways. The Whites are currently above us in the table, but a win on Sunday will set things straight.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side were unlucky not get a win over us earlier in the season. We were in deep trouble at the start of the second half as Nicolas Pepe got himself a red card after he headbutted Leeds’ Ezgjan Alioski.
My Revenge On Ben Foster
There wasn’t a lot of contact between the two players and Arsenal supporters – and Kieran Tierney – were absolutely livid with the Leeds defender after the game. Alioski clearly made the most of it and his comments now will make Pepe and Gunners fans fume again.
Patrick Bamford revealed on the official Leeds United Podcast that Alioski has claimed that he can’t wait to face Pepe again this weekend.
He said: “Do you know what? He said in the changing room, ‘I can’t wait for Sunday’. I was like ‘why?’. He said ‘because I’m playing against my mate Pepe again.”
Alioski will not have it as easy this time
Yes, Pepe lost his cool back in November but he is a completely different player now. He would’ve learnt from his mistakes and if recent form is anything to go by, he will give Leeds’ defenders a really tough game.
Alioski apparently can’t wait to face Pepe but his wait won’t end this weekend. He will be up against Bukayo Saka this time around, and the young Englishman will make him pay if he takes things lightly.
Saka is arguably the best young player in the Premier League. He has been a real threat on the right-wing this term, and if he can get himself in a 1v1 position against Alioski, you will fancy the Arsenal man to win that battle every single time.
Here’s how a few Arsenal fans reacted to what Alioski apparently said.
