According to The Daily Star, Arsenal will consider a move for West Brom’s Sam Johnstone if a deal for Sheffield United star Aaron Ramsdale becomes too difficult to complete in the coming weeks.
It’s no secret that the Gunners are on the market for a new goalkeeper. Bernd Leno is our number one but his future is up in the air. Maty Ryan’s loan spell ended and it’s unlikely that he will return, while Runar Alex Runarsson is nowhere near good enough.
Arsenal need someone who can come in and take over from Leno or challenge him for the number one spot every day. Andre Onana was heavily linked, but those rumours have been replaced by our reported interest in Blades’ Ramsdale.

The 23-year-old was a part of the Sheffield United side that got relegated last season. He has been a regular in the Premier League for a couple of seasons now, and although he has shown potential at times, he is nowhere near good enough to replace Leno.
However, for some strange reason, the Gunners are still reportedly keen to sign Ramsdale, but the Blades are demanding a ton of money for him. The report claims that Sheffield United want a fee in excess of £25 million for their shot-stopper, which is just way too much.
Arsenal will reportedly try to bring that fee down, but if we can’t, Edu is set to turn his attention to another relegated goalkeeper in Johnstone.

Arsenal fans think Sam Johnstone is better than Aaron Ramsdale
The Englishman was one of the Baggies’ best players last season. Although his side went down, he impressed many people, and if Arsenal fans were given a choice between Johnstone and Ramsdale, almost every Gooner would pick the former this summer.
