If there’s one Arsenal transfer prediction that you can bet your house on, it’s Matteo Guendouzi leaving the club.

The Frenchman burst onto the scene under Unai Emery and became an instant fan-favourite. He came in as a nobody and quickly became the talk of the town because of how good he was, even against the bigger teams.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Guendouzi ended his debut season in England as one of the best young players in the world. Every Arsenal fan was certain that he would go on to become a huge player for us, but everything changed a few months into Mikel Arteta’s reign.

An altercation with Neal Maupay in the game against Brighton followed by whatever happened behind the scenes cost him his place in the side. Arteta wasn’t even willing to talk about Guendouzi in his press conferences – the situation was that bad.

The Frenchman was sent out on loan to Hertha Berlin last summer and although he didn’t really light up the Bundesliga, he had a decent season, especially in his first six months at the Olympiastadion.

It still looked almost certain that he would leave Arsenal this summer, but there could be a twist in the tale.

Has Matteo Guendouzi just dropped a hint about his Arsenal future?

Guendouzi bid farewell to Hertha recently and multiple reports claimed that he is close to joining Marseille. It almost looked imminent at one point, but the midfielder’s latest activity on Twitter has confused a few Arsenal supporters.

Guendouzi’s Twitter profile is as Arsenal-themed as it can possibly get. Is he hinting that he could stay? Has he repaired his relationship with Arteta? Or is this just good old Matteo playing with everyone again?

Arsenal fans are hoping that it’s the former. A fully committed Guendouzi would be incredible for us, especially considering how short we are in central midfield. He has the quality to lead us to the very top but only if he changes his ways.

We really do hope that him and Arteta are on good terms again.
