Yunus Musah was one of the breakout stars of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and with the likes of Arsenal now interested in the USA international, Valencia have set their asking price for the 20-year-old midfielder.
According to the Athletic, the La Liga side’s precarious financial situation means they are open to selling Musah for around €20m (£17m), a deal many clubs would take in a heartbeat given just how impressive the former Arsenal academy star performed out in Qatar.
With FC Inter News reporting that Arsenal are interested in signing the midfielder, it’s perhaps no real secret that fans want Mikel Arteta to move in for the former Hale End prospect. And with Valencia setting an incredibly low asking price for Musah, the north London side should be quick off their line to sign the youngster.
Arsenal must move for Musah as Valencia set £17m asking price

Arsenal’s transfer plan in January, even with Gabriel Jesus being struck down by injury, has been well publicised, with the Athletic stating that a wide-attacker and central midfielder are the two positions Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar are looking to target in the winter market.
Whilst talk of Brazilian youngster Danilo has been all the rage, recent links to Musah and this latest update of Valencia’s asking price could hint towards Arsenal moving for their former Hale End superstar, a move that many supporters would be in favour of.
Indeed, Musah stole the show for the US out in Qatar as one of the youngest players in the youngest squad at the World Cup, and for Arteta, the midfield wonderkid fits the exact profile the Arsenal manager has been targeting in the past 18 months.
Arteta can beat rival clubs in race to sign Musah in January

As mentioned, Arsenal aren’t the only club interested in signing Musah, with 90min claiming that both Chelsea and Liverpool are also keeping tabs on the midfielder following his performances out in Qatar. Yet for the north London side, the Arteta trump card could once again come in clutch.
The Basque manager has been a key selling point for many of Arsenal’s best transfers in recent years, and with Musah the sort of player who would thrive under the 40-year-old coach, Arteta could once again work his magic in the negotiation room to bring the wonderkid back to north London.
