Arsenal vs Burnley preview: Auba, Laca and Pepe together for the first time?

Arsenal managed to pick up a good win away against Newcastle United last week but Unai Emery’s side are back to the place where they’ve enjoyed the most success since his arrival – The Emirates. Home form has never really been an issue for us but a Burnley will certainly pose a tough test.

Sean Dyche’s side started their league campaign in style as they brushed aside Southampton 3-0 last weekend. Burnley looked comfortable both with and without the ball and Ashley Barnes, like always, led his side from the front with a brace.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Four Burnley players to look out for:

Barnes along with the likes of Johann Berg Gudmundsson, Dwight McNeil and Chris Wood will pose a serious threat. However, with David Luiz expected to make his debut, we can expect a sense of calmness in defence. The Brazilian’s experience alongside either Sokratis should prove to be enough to deal with the threat of the Clarets’ attackers.

Midfield is an area where Emery has a plethora of options and his preferred trio is anybody’s guess. Mesut Ozil has returned to training while Dani Ceballos, Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Mo Elneny and Joe Willock are all set to give the gaffer a massive headache ahead of Saturday’s game.

Nicolas Pepe is another player who is expected to make his full debut this weekend. The Ivorian came off the bench against Newcastle but didn’t have much to do. However, from the start with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang alongside him, Pepe will have the right players around him to cause the impact that we all know he is capable of.

With massive games against Liverpool and Tottenham coming up after this weekend, a win is an absolute necessity. Emery cannot afford to take the game lightly and has to get his tactics spot on against Dyche’s in-form Burnley side on Saturday.
