While Christmas Day is marked as time with family and friends, spent unwrapping gifts and enjoying festive times together, it changes the following day.

December 26, also known as Boxing Day, has become a tradition for football to return to the Premier League with games on throughout the day.

For Arsenal, it has largely been a day of good tidings, with their record certainly showing that since 1992.

What is Arsenal’s biggest win on Boxing Day?

Arsenal’s biggest Boxing Day win in the Premier League came in 2000, with the side facing off against Leicester City.

The Gunners put the Foxes to the sword, smashing six past them in a 6-1 win at Highbury Stadium to send the home fans away in delight.

It wasn’t the sort of match that warranted a thrashing though, with Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira giving the side a 2-0 lead with goals either side of half-time.

Leicester got back into it through Ade Akinbiyi in the 54th minute, but that’s where Arsenal retaliated in style.

Henry smashed in another two to complete his hat-trick, while Freddie Ljungberg and Tony Adams completed the rout.

Arsenal have only tasted defeat twice on Boxing Day, however, it was a pretty big loss when they faced Southampton in 2015.

The Saints ran riot at Saint Mary’s, as goals from Cuco Martina, Jose Fonte and a Shane Long brace dealt the Gunners a 4-0 loss.
