Arsenal’s priority target in this month’s transfer window is a new number 10. The Gunners need creativity in the middle of their park and Edu is working really hard to get a deal over the line in the coming days.
However, that isn’t the only position Arsenal should be looking at.
Arsenal replaced Emiliano Martinez with Alex Runarsson in the summer. The Iceland international’s arrival was a shock considering that he wasn’t really rated by many people as a top-level goalkeeper.

Runarsson, as expected, was exposed against Manchester City last month. The former Dijon man’s howler saw Pep Guardiola’s side take the lead, and that put the game beyond our reach.
Arsenal are said to be looking at a new goalkeeper this month and Barcelona star Neto is reportedly on Arteta’s list. (Read here)
The Brazilian will not dislodge Marc-Andre ter Stegen at the Camp Nou and he wants out as a result. Neto wants regular game time and he has handed in a transfer request to get that this month. (Sport)

However, that demand of his means that Arsenal will not get him.
Bernd Leno is Arsenal’s undisputed number one. The German has shown time and again that he is among the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, and there is no way Neto will come in and take his place.
Arsenal will now have to focus their attention elsewhere. Neto would have been a better backup to Leno than Runarsson, but the Brazilian has his flaws as well, and he is simply not good enough to be our number one.
