Belleríns future in doubt

Arsenal right-back Héctor Bellerín is really the man of the moment with this week’s papers claiming that Barcelona and Manchester City both want Bellerin.
Guardiola at Manchester City wants a right-back who has good technique, ball control and offensive attributes. Bellerín fits this profile easily.
Guardiola would have requested Bellerin’s signing to Txiki Begiristain. Spanish sources have indicated that Bellerin hasn’t only talked to Begiristain, but also to Guardiola, giving both of them a positive answer.
In Barcelona’s case, a right-back isn’t so wanted right now, as Sergi Roberto has been doing a good job in the position. There are conflicting claims with the English media saying Bellerin would prefer Manchester City to be the next destination of his career whilst Mundo Deportivo says the opposite.
Arsene Wenger would obviously have no intention to sell the player, but the question remains how long will the manager last at Arsenal, as his contract expires at the end of the season and he’s being linked to the England job.
Barcelona vice-president Jordi Mestre has said recently: ‘We’ve already seen him as a Cule! He’s a great player, there’s no doubt about that,’ Mestre was quoted as saying.
‘Arsene Wenger convinced him to move in 2011 and promised him something which we couldn’t.
‘We could not promise him that within two years he would be playing in Dani Alves’ place.’
With his contract set to breach that all-important ‘two-years-remaining mark’ (when clubs usually decide to offer an improved deal or sell) next summer, Bellerin’s future at Arsenal has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks. There are claims that Arsenal are hoping to fend off Barca and City by agreeing a new contract with the 21-year-old with the Gunners eager to hold talks with his representatives after the international break.
Full-back is a huge problem area for the Citizens long-term however, the north Londoners still have the best part of three years to convince Bellerin otherwise and Arsene Wenger remains adamant none of his top performers will be sold.
