It’s Arsenal vs Brighton in the Carabao Cup tomorrow, and Mikel Arteta could give opportunities to a few of our academy players.

The Gunners have been brilliant in all competitions so far this season. We’ve lost just two games and are on top of both, the Premier League and Europa League tables.

Now, it’s time for the Carabao Cup, and the competition could open the door for a few youngsters.

Four Arsenal wonderkids who could play vs Brighton

The Carabao Cup is often a great competition for young players to get an opportunity with the first team. Charlie Patino made his debut in the League Cup last season, and four more Hale End gems could get the nod this year.

Ethan Nwaneri

The now 16-year-old made history earlier this season by becoming the youngest player ever to feature in a Premier League game.

Arteta already knows how talented he is, and his brace against Manchester United’s U18s team recently will surely have caught the Gunners boss’ eye.

Reuell Walters

The youngster is still only 17, but he impressed everyone with his performances in pre-season. He can play as a centre-half as well as at right-back, which makes him a fantastic prospect.

Walters has played in each of Arsenal U21s’ last five Premier League 2 games. He has been really good, and it won’t be a surprise at all to see him in the squad tomorrow.

Catalin Cirjan

If you’ve followed Arsenal’s academy over the last few years, you know how highly rated Cirjan is. He has always been destined to become a star, but a terrible knee injury kept him out of action for a long time.

Thankfully, he is fit now and has been spotted in numerous first-team training sessions. He could well get an opportunity tomorrow.

Lino Sousa

Sousa only joined Arsenal in January this year, but he has made a fantastic name for himself. He’s one of our most exciting young players to watch – even though he’s a left-back.

With Takehiro Tomiyasu out injured and Oleksandr Zinchenko just coming back from his fitness issues, Sousa could well be the backup to Kieran Tierney tomorrow.
