The summer transfer window is still a few months away but the rumours have been flying in already.

Arsenal are expected to be busy this summer. We need reinforcements in multiple areas of the pitch, and we will have to replace a few players as well if they decide to leave the club at the end of the season.

One such player is Hector Bellerin. CBS Sports recently claimed that Hector Bellerin is planning his Arsenal exit. He was very close to joining PSG last summer, but Mikel Arteta blocked that move and the full-back stayed put.

However, that could change this summer. Bellerin wants to go, PSG are keen and Arteta reportedly has no plans of stopping him this time around.

Using Bellerin in a swap deal

Ian McGarry claimed on the Transfer Window Podcast that Arteta has specifically asked technical director Edu to swap Bellerin for Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler in the summer.

The German World Cup winner has been linked with a move to Arsenal for years now. A move has never materialised, but if McGarry’s words are to be believed, Arteta wants him at the Emirates next season.

Arsenal Insider’s view

We don’t know what McGarry has heard but this move is impossible.

Arsenal might well be interested in Draxler and Bellerin may well join PSG this summer. But, a swap deal is simply not possible as the French champions have no say over the German midfielder’s future.

Draxler will be out of contract in the summer. He will be a free-agent and Arsenal don’t need to use Bellerin or ask PSG to give the green light for us to sign him in the upcoming transfer window.

Let’s just laugh this off and focus on tomorrow’s game, shall we?
