Arsenal fans have heard the worst possible news this afternoon – Gabriel Jesus has picked up an injury and is ruled out for the remainder of the World Cup.
The Brazilian is our main man. He’s one of the biggest reasons why we’re on top of the Premier League table, and if he’s out for a significant period of time, we will be in real trouble.
Hopefully, Jesus will be back soon, but if he’s sidelined for a while, Mikel Arteta should consider diving into the transfer market to bring in an emergency replacement.
Five strikers Arsenal should consider signing after Gabriel Jesus injury blow
Marcus Thuram
Thuram will enter the final six months of his contract in January. The Frenchman has had a fantastic campaign for Borussia Monchengladbach so far, having scored 13 goals and provided four assists in just 17 appearances.
90min reported a week ago that Arsenal had sent scouts to watch Thuram in action, which shows that there is interest.
The 25-year-old will likely be available for a bargain fee next month, and he should be considered if Jesus’ injury turns out to be a serious one.

Wilfried Zaha
Another player who will have just six months left on his contract in January. Zaha has long been linked with a move to Arsenal, and he’d be a decent stop-gap replacement for Jesus.
Yes, the Ivorian plays on the left flank more often than not, but he is more than capable of starting up top in a system like ours where our front three will constantly be interchanging.
To add to that, Zaha is an Arsenal fan too, and if we want him, there’s a good chance he’ll push for a move in January.

Noah Okafor
The most inexperienced option on our list, but Okafor is a fine talent.
The 22-year-old Swiss international has been linked with a move to plenty of clubs in the Premier League, including Arsenal (CalcioMercato), who always have an eye out for exciting young talents.
Okafor has scored 10 goals for RB Salzburg this season, including one against Chelsea in the Champions League. He is a fine talent, and a quick phone call from his national team skipper Granit Xhaka could convince him to join us.

Moussa Dembele
The 26-year-old Frenchman will have just six months left on his contract too, and he had a fine campaign last season for Lyon.
He scored 22 goals and provided five assists in just 31 starts in all competitions, which is an excellent return.
The January transfer window will be Lyon’s last opportunity to make some money from Dembele’s sale. That could make him available for a bargain fee, and he’d be a decent option for us as a temporary replacement for Jesus.

Memphis Depay
The former Manchester United man is having a torrid time at Barcelona. The Catalans are desperate for him to leave, and Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed recently that the Spanish giants are even willing to rip up his contract.
If Depay is available on a free transfer at a time when Arsenal need an emergency replacement for Jesus, Arteta should really consider bringing him in.
He has just scored for the Netherlands against Matt Turner’s USA as well, which shows he has still got it.
