Lifelong Arsenal fan and self-made millionaire Peter Cruddas was born in Hackney, East London. He has become noted for his philanthropy, donating hundreds of millions to charity.
He set up the Peter Cruddas foundation, which has a “primary objective of helping disadvantaged and disengaged youth”.
It is a project close to his heart, having left school at the age of 15 due to a ‘difficult home situation’. He has cited The Scouts as a major influence in his life, saying: “The Scouts enabled me to escape a violent home situation and the inner city. I sincerely believe that I would not be where I am today had I not become a member.”
He was listed by the Sunday Times as the 90th richest person in Britain with an estimated wealth of £750 million.
Despite his success, his main hobbies are still playing football and watching Arsenal, as well as golf.
