Lionel Messi looks like he’s heading to the French capital to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer. The legendary Argentine’s time at Barcelona has come to an end barring a miracle, and Les Parisiens are reportedly the frontrunners for his signature now.

Messi, although a free agent, will still be an outrageously expensive player to sign. L’Equipe reveal that PSG are set to offer him an eye-watering €40 million (£34m) a year salary after tax, which is approximately €769,000-a-week (£652,000).

It is safe to say, the mighty Arsenal won’t be signing Messi this summer, but there could be something Edu can do. PSG will need to offload a few players to be on the right side of Financial Fair Play regulations. The Gunners could potentially take advantage of that in the coming weeks.

Three PSG players Arsenal can sign to help them get Messi

Keylor Navas:

Arsenal are clearly in the market looking for a new goalkeeper and who better than a three-time Champions League winner?

The Costa Rican skipper is among the best in the world. He was fantastic for Real Madrid whenever he played there and he has been even better for PSG since he joined them two years ago.

Navas is likely to be available on the market this summer. PSG now have Gianluigi Donnarumma and the Italian will be their number one. That could open the door for Arsenal to sign the former Real Madrid man, and he would be a fantastic addition to our squad.

Julian Draxler:

The German, now 27, has been linked with a move to Arsenal almost every year since he was a teenager.

Draxler never quite lived up to his initial hype, but he’s still a fine player, and although he signed a new deal a few months ago, there’s no room for him to be a regular there.

Fussball Transfers claimed as early as three months ago that Arsenal are interested in the PSG man. He’s obviously not our top target, but if moves for James Maddison, Martin Odegaard and even Houssem Aouar become impossible to complete, it won’t be a surprise to see Edu revive his interest in Draxler.

Thilo Kehrer:

About three weeks ago, Foot Mercato revealed that Arsenal are interested in signing Kehrer from PSG. The 24-year-old has just two years left on his contract, and Sergio Ramos’ arrival complicates things even more for him.

Yes, Arsenal have already signed Ben White and we don’t necessarily need a new centre-half. However, Kehrer can play anywhere across the back-four and even as a defensive midfielder, just ask Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.

That will give Arteta a ton of options next season, especially with Hector Bellerin’s future at right-back still unclear.
