He was born in Cuiaba, Brazil, which is the capital city of the state of Mato Grosso and where he grew up to play football.

Which clubs has Igor Jesus played for?

In his career so far, Igor Jesus has featured for three different domestic football clubs, starting out with Coritiba.

The striker came through the ranks there before making nearly 50 appearances for the Brazilian outfit, scoring a handful of goals.

A switch to the UAE saw Jesus join Shabab Al Ahli, where he went on to find some more impressive form with over 60 goal involvements in just under 90 appearances.

In the summer of 2024, he returned to Brazil to join up with Botafogo, where he managed to help them land two trophies almost immediately.
