Arsenal stars Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli have been called up to the senior Brazil squad for their upcoming games against Chile and Bolivia.

The two Brazilians have been excellent for the Gunners this season, especially since the turn of the year.

Gabriel has been a mainstay at the back and has formed a phenomenal partnership with Ben White. Martinelli, on the other hand, has really impressed on the left flank and even scored a stunner against Watford last weekend.

The Brazilian football federation announced their squad for their World Cup qualifiers scheduled to take place at the end of this month.

The Seleção Canarinho will host Chile at the Maracana on the 24th before travelling to La Paz to take on Bolivia on the 30th.

Martinelli has represented Brazil at the Olympics and helped them win gold last year. However, this is his first official senior call-up and we must say, he completely deserves it.

Gabriel, who has also been called up, is delighted to see his young pal join him on international duty in a few weeks’ time.

The Insider’s View:

It really is fantastic to see our youngsters receive international call-ups.

Gabriel and Martinelli are set to go out with Brazil, while there’s a good chance Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale, Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka will get called up by Gareth Southgate for England’s games against Switzerland and the Ivory Coast.

Albert Sambi Lokonga has already featured for Belgium while it’s only a matter of time before Nuno Tavares gets his chance for Portugal.

All of our brilliant young players will soon be full-time internationals and Mikel Arteta should be a proud man.
