Arsenal smashed six past West Brom last night and Mikel Arteta gave an insight into what the players were talking about in the dressing room right after the game at the Hawthorns.
The Gunners went into the game with our backs against the wall. We were convincingly beaten in each of our previous two games and the pressure was well and truly on the players to bounce back against the Baggies.
Arteta named a strong lineup and every player performed brilliantly. The lads made the travelling Arsenal fans, who went all the way to the Hawthorns in numbers, extremely proud last night.
Arsenal players were all talking about the away fans after beating West Brom
Arteta was delighted with his side’s performance last night and he was even more thrilled with the amazing away support. He revealed that even the players were talking about how incredible the supporters were after the game.
He said, as per Arsenal.com: “I’m really happy for them (players) and for the fans – that we can give them something to cheer, because we had a lot of supporters here tonight.
“It’s great to see the support that we got from the fans today. They came all the way here to give us support on a midweek night. The players were talking about it – and [now it’s about] getting ready mentally and physically to go to Manchester and try to win.”
Support the team!
It was sad to see people who claim to be Arsenal fans surround Arteta’s car and hurl abuses at him. Those aren’t the values our football club is built on, and there is no place for supporters like them.
The support against Chelsea was absolutely magnificent. It really helped us get going at times, but unfortunately, we couldn’t get the job done against a side that are clearly on a different level compared to us at the moment.
Constant support every time our players step onto the pitch will give them the confidence they need to perform. That will play a massive part in helping us win games this season, and hopefully, we will see more support like last night throughout the campaign.
