Mikel Arteta has urged the fans to get behind the club after Stan Kroenke rejected Daniel Ek’s offers to takeover Arsenal Football Club.

Gooners were really excited about the prospect of seeing the Swedish billionaire push the Kroenkes out of the door. Sadly, KSE stood firm and there will be no change in our ownership anytime soon.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Arteta was quizzed about the situation today and the Arsenal boss is hoping that all of us can move on from this saga. He has called for unity and togetherness from the supporters to help the club get back to where it belongs.

Asked if we can draw a line under the takeover talk now that KSE have rejected Ek’s bid, Arteta said, as per “I really hope so because it has been very clear where the owners are standing.

“I think I have given my view on the situation. Just for the benefit of the club, which is the only interest really of everyone who supports the club, the aim is to get the unity and togetherness that we need to be back where we want. That’s all.”

The Insider’s View:

That’s a fair plea by Arteta, but his request is unlikely to be obliged by Arsenal fans on Sunday.

The supporters group have already called for a protest against the Kroenkes at the Emirates before, during and after our game against Brighton this weekend. That isn’t helpful for the players, but our voices need to be heard.

The Kroenkes’ decision to sign up for the Super League was one step too far, and although they’ve apologised for their mistake, we need actions, not words.

The upcoming summer transfer window will say a lot about Silent Stan, Josh and KSE. This is the perfect opportunity for them to win over a few fans, but if history is anything to go by, we can only expect further disappointment.
