Arsenal have just made Premier League history by beating Sunderland in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta’s side were the favourites to beat the Black Cats at the Emirates, but after dropping points in the reverse fixture, they couldn’t take this game lightly.

A stunner from Martin Zubimendi, followed by a second-half brace from Viktor Gyokeres, sealed a fantastic 3-0 win for the Gunners.

That win takes Arsenal nine points clear at the top of the table. Manchester City do have a game in hand, but that is against Liverpool at Anfield.

Before that, the North Londoners should celebrate entering the history books.

Arsenal break Chelsea’s Premier League record after beating Sunderland

Arsenal have found themselves in a fantastic position right now.

They were the favourites to win the Premier League before a ball was even kicked on Saturday, and their chances have now gone up significantly.

There were a few concerns going into the game against Sunderland because of how good they have been under Regis Le Bris this season.

However, Arsenal’s record against newly promoted sides at home has been sensational for a long time, so much so that they have now broken a Premier League record.

The Gunners are now unbeaten in 44 consecutive home league games against teams that have come up from the Championship.

That is the longest unbeaten streak in Premier League history.

The previous record was held by Chelsea, who went 43 home games unbeaten against promoted sides between 2001 and 2015.

The last time Arsenal lost a game to a newly promoted club at the Emirates was all the way back in 2010. That was against Newcastle United.

Arsenal substitutes are dominating the Premier League

Arsenal have the best squad in the Premier League.

Signing eight new players in the summer has really benefited the Gunners, and they are now reaping the rewards.

All eyes are usually on the starting lineup, but Arsenal’s substitutes, or ‘finishers’ as Arteta likes to call them, have scored nine goals in the league this season.

That is more than any other club in the division. (Sky Sports)

If Arsenal keep doing this in the coming weeks, they will win the title comfortably.
