Arsenal produced a remarkable attacking performance against Leicester City on Saturday.
Arsenal left it late to secure all three points against the newly-promoted side, but that was not for lack of trying.
Mikel Arteta’s side created a vast number of chances against the Foxes, and were it not for the inspired form of goalkeeper Mads Hermansen then they would have won by an even wider margin than the 4-2 triumph they ultimately recorded.
Jurrien Timber was a creative force for Arsenal, whilst the likes of Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri, Riccardo Calafiori, and Kai Havertz all drew exceptional saves from Hermansen.
Eventually, though, the Gunners’ persistence paid off, as a Wilfred Ndidi own goal put the hosts ahead in the 94th minute, before Havertz added gloss to the scoreline in the 99th minute.

Arsenal lead Europe in key area
One key stat from this game underlines how relentless Arsenal were in their efforts to beat Hermansen.
As per Sofascore, no other side in Europe’s major leagues this season has recorded as many shots in a single match as Arsenal produced against Leicester.
Arsenal had 36 efforts on Saturday, with 16 of those on target. They created 10 big chances and recorded an xG of 4.12.
Despite coming so close to dropping points in this fixture, Arteta will be proud of his side’s dominance. No one can argue that the Gunners didn’t deserve to win this game.
Arsenal underline title credentials vs Leicester
Arsenal showed great fighting spirit to keep going to the bitter end against Leicester, and were rewarded for their patience and endeavour.
It is a cliche, but no less true for that, to say that finding a way to win games late on, or against the odds, is the mark of champions. The Gunners could have admitted that it simply wasn’t to be their day on Saturday, but instead they refused to accept their fate and found a way to win.
Ally McCoist has tipped Arsenal to be crowned champions this season, and Arteta’s side showed with this performance that they are up for the fight, and will scrap for every available point this season.
