Arsenal left it late as they recorded a dramatic 4-2 victory over Leicester City, with two goals coming in injury time.

The Gunners led 2-0 at half time, but were stunned as Leicester defender James Justin scored a brace to level the score.

Mikel Arteta then made a bold substitution as he brought on teenage sensation Ethan Nwaneri, and the midfielder made an instant impact.

Nwaneri was electric as he beat a few players before firing off a fierce shot within moments of his introduction, and he oozed class with his close control.

The 17-year-old scored twice on his first start for the club against Bolton in the Carabao Cup, but this did not earn him a place in the starting XI against Leicester. However, Arsenal fans now believe he is ready to start in the Premier League.

Arsenal fans mesmerised by Ethan Nwaneri in Leicester victory

Arsenal fans have taken to X to express their delight at Nwaneri’s cameo, which helped the home side push forward and eventually secure the victory.

“Nwaneri is ready. That cameo was elite,” one fan stated.

“Nwaneri completely changed the game; Partey should never ever start ahead of him again,” another claimed.

“Btw Ethan Nwaneri could easily start right now. People get too hung about age and experience. You’re telling me you can’t see the difference watching him compared to some of those other attackers?” An Arsenal fan pointed out.

“If Nwaneri was 22 he’d be starting, which is unbelievably dumb. Please start him. Start him,” another demanded.

“Ethan Nwaneri is an absolute phenomenon! At just 17, he’s already showing maturity, confidence, and technical brilliance beyond his years. That cameo was pure electricity! He completely changed the game for Arsenal. Well played son!” A fan posted.

“Nwaneri is ready to start for this club regularly That cameo was unbelievable,” another claimed.

Ethan Nwaneri is ready to start for Arsenal

Nwaneri was introduced as a substitute before the more experienced Gabriel Jesus, which shows that he is high up in Arteta’s thinking when looking at his bench.

With the score at 2-2, the occasion may have been too much for a teenager, but Nwaneri entered the game in difficult circumstances and made an instant impact.

The teenager’s skill and composure was a level above some of his more experienced teammates, and he has shown that he is ready to play against Premier League opposition.

Arsenal will face fellow promoted side Southampton at the Emirates in their next league game, and fans will be eager to see Nwaneri handed an opportunity from the start.
