Arsenal suffered a defeat against Aston Villa after conceding a last-minute goal.

The Gunners were nowhere near their best on Saturday. They were awful in the first half and were lucky to go in just one goal down at the break.

Arsenal started the second half really well, and substitute Leandro Trossard levelled the game in the 52nd minute. However, their level dropped soon after, and that gave Villa some momentum.

In the end, just when it looked like the game would finish 1-1, Emiliano Buendia scored with what was the last kick of the match to give Unai Emery’s side the win.

Before that goal, Arsenal fans were all raving about Piero Hincapie. However, following the defeat, everyone has changed their minds.

Hincapie started at the back once again for Arsenal in the absence of William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Cristhian Mosquera.

The Ecuadorian was solid for large parts of the game. However, right at the end, he gave away an avoidable throw-in and then failed to block Buendia’s shot.

Arsenal fans were all praising Hincapie before Villa’s second goal, but everyone’s opinions changed right after the ball went in.

Here’s what some Arsenal supporters were saying before the goal:

One tweeted: “Hincapie has been top today!”

Another wrote: “Hincapie is a monster!”

“Hincapie has been immense today,” said another.

After the goal, the mood completely changed.

One fan wrote: “I am so angry at Hincapie, man. All he had to do was clear the ball at least. Not put it out for a throw-in in the last seconds.”

Another said: “That was Hincapie’s fault, by the way. Kick the ball upfield instead of overplaying and conceding a cheap throw-in. We need Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes to come back as soon as possible.”

“Hincapie gifted them the win,” tweeted another.
