The Gunners made 10 changes to their side at Fratton Park, but the most exciting news was the German’s return to the bench.

Havertz hadn’t played a single minute of football since the opening game of the season due to a knee issue, but he came on in the second half against Pompey.
Almost instantly, Arsenal looked like a better side with the former Chelsea man leading the line.
His movement, the way he occupied space and how much of a threat he was in his first game back impressed everybody.

After watching Kai Havertz’s cameo against Portsmouth, fans are all saying the same thing about the Swede.

Another wrote: “Havertz has been out for a year, and already looks a more complete player than both Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus in every single phase of play.”
“Havertz looked more like scoring than Gyokeres has all season,” said another.

Havertz’s cameo against Portsmouth showed what Arsenal have been missing.
The German’s movement in and around the box was refreshing to see after weeks of watching Gyokeres struggle in that department.
Many feel the Swede will now have to step up his game to stay in the side, but we think he could form a great partnership with Havertz.
The former Chelsea man playing up top with the Swede in a system where they continuously interchange positions would be incredibly difficult to defend.
It won’t happen overnight, but if Havertz and Gyokeres could form a good partnership, Arsenal will become an even bigger force than they already are.
