Arsenal were made to work hard but managed to secure a 1-0 win against Everton in the Premier League.
The Gunners had found it difficult against the Toffees away from home in recent seasons, but David Moyes’ side don’t play at Goodison Park anymore.
Arsenal fared much better at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday night, and Viktor Gyokeres’ first-half penalty proved to be enough to seal the game.
Despite the win, Arsenal fans are very upset with one player’s performance – Martin Odegaard.
Have we got it right by naming Bukayo Saka as our Man of the Match?
Arsenal fans fume at Martin Odegaard after his performance vs Everton
Odegaard started ahead of Eberechi Eze in the number 10 position, and he was heavily involved.
However, the Norway international wasn’t at his best with his final pass, and that seems to have infuriated the supporters.
At the end of the first half, Gyokeres could’ve been through on goal, but Odegaard’s pass was really poor and pushed the striker wide. That didn’t go down well.
One Arsenal fan tweeted: “You could make a two-hour compilation of Odegaard forcing his runner wider than he would like.”

Another wrote: “So sick of Odegaard forcing the players wide with his passes.”
“Every Odegaard through-ball attempt sends the recipient towards the corner flag. I’ll never understand why,” said another.
Another Gooner posted: “The best ball we have seen into Gyokeres all season is from William Saliba. Odegaard has a simple five-yard pass to him and completely overhits it.”
“Odegaard, are you kidding me, man? Two runners and that’s the pass you play,” tweeted another.
Imagine it’s the Champions League final tomorrow and you could only start one player out of Eberechi Eze and Martin Odegaard. Who are you picking and why?
Arsenal have a major problem that needs to be fixed ASAP
Odegaard wasn’t awful by any means against Everton, but his final ball was an issue.
When you have a striker like Gyokeres, who thrives when you unleash him in behind, the through balls need to be perfect, but that has not been the case.
This is not just a problem with Odegaard – even Eze failed to feed the Swede when he was starting as Arsenal’s attacking midfielder.
If Gyokeres is to be a success at Arsenal, the likes of Odegaard and Eze need to get their final passes right.
If not, the former Sporting man will continue to struggle for goals in the Premier League.
