Arsenal fans are convinced Mikel Arteta has to make Bukayo Saka change after Olympiacos win

Arsenal fans loved one thing they saw from Bukayo Saka against Olympiacos, and it wasn’t his goal.

Saka scored his second goal of the season in injury time against Olympiacos, getting on the end of a fine pass from Martin Odegaard. 

Mikel Arteta waited until the 73rd minute to bring the Arsenal winger into the game, as it became clear that Olympiacos were testing the hosts enough to warrant a greater push for a game-ending goal. 

The goal came in the 92nd minute thanks to Saka, who netted for the 11th time in the Champions League for the Gunners.

Arsenal fans want to see Bukayo Saka play on the left more after Olympiacos performance

Saka’s goal wasn’t the only talking point from the match, as fans noticed something very interesting about the winger.

There has been a lot of talk about Saka’s competition with Noni Madueke on the right, which had fans talking about the 24-year-old’s positioning on the left against Olympiacos. 

The Arsenal academy product played off the left and scored from the left, which had fans going crazy on social media. 

“Arteta finally using Saka off left like I ain’t been screaming for this for years,” one supporter said.

Another echoed that they’d wanted to see the switch happen for some time.

“I told y’all Saka LW will cook like mad. Let Noni be causing chaos on RW, Saka will be banging goals on the left.”

Wayne Rooney thinks Saka is Arsenal’s game-changer, and fans now believe the forward could wreak even more havoc on the left. 

“Left Wing Saka is a big problem! No need to cut back, shoot or find the back post.”

“Bukayo Saka on the left side is an absolute demon. Unstoppable shot and clean precise passes from deep. Goals will rain if Mikel moves him to the left.”

“That routine Saka switch to the left is going to cause team problems this season.” 

With some believing that Gabriel Martinelli is best suited as a striker, change could be seen in the wide areas of Arsenal’s attack this season.

After watching him against Olympiacos, fans made it clear that they want to see more of Saka on the left side. 

“Definitely want to see more of Saka left wing. Even if it’s just switching sides for a bit. He’s equally amazing on both sides.”

“Saka left wing – right wing, all round danger.”

“Love Trossard but we need a killer on the left. Saka should start there.”

“Saka can play both left and right wing. Wow. What a time to be alive.”

Saka’s stats against Olympiacos 

Given that Saka was only on the pitch for 17 minutes, he certainly made a big impression on Arsenal fans.

The opposition would’ve also been impacted by the winger’s arrival, as Saka made his presence known during the short amount of time he was on the pitch.

In 17 minutes, Saka scored, created one big chance, completed all of his attempted passes and drew a foul, in what was an eventful cameo for the Hale End product.

It will be fascinating to see how Arteta responds to Saka’s impressive spell on the left, with fans making it clear that they want to see more.
