Viktor Gyokeres has Arsenal fans talking after the Gunners’ opening goal against Olympiacos.
Arsenal flew out of the blocks against Olympiacos, with Mikel Arteta clearly instructing his side to leave no stone unturned early on.
Gabriel Martinelli redeemed himself after missing a clear chance to score in the second minute, putting the ball in the net ten minutes later to finish a chance created by Martin Odegaard and Viktor Gyokeres.
As Odegaard threaded the ball through to the Arsenal striker, Gyokeres shrugged off two Olympiacos defenders to take a shot on goal, an attempt that hit the post.
Martinelli was there to convert the chance, but fans are all talking about Gyokeres.

Arsenal fans blown away by Viktor Gyokeres’ strength vs Olympiacos
Martinelli scored his third goal in his previous five matches, but the Brazilian slowed his run with the hope of seeing Gyokeres’ effort cross the line.
The Swede deserved the goal for the work he did to lose the two defenders closing him down in the box, a show of strength that Arsenal fans were amazed by.
“Gyokeres, so damn powerful my word. Just batted away those defenders,” a supporter said on X.
Others credited Martinelli for scoring, but shone the spotlight on the summer signing.
“Great stuff from Gyokeres, really unlucky not to get the goal. Well followed up by Martinelli!”
“Good goal from Martinelli, but huge credit for Gyokeres, battling with 2 Olympiacos defenders and also could do a shot.”
Gary Neville has described Gyokeres as a battering ram this season, and fans echoed the pundit’s description of the striker during the Olympiacos clash.
“Gyokeres is an absolute battering ram, he’s taken our attack to another level.”
Another nickname was circulating after Gyokeres’ role in Martinelli’s goal.
“Gyokeres is a beast… great run.”
“Gyokeres what a beast!”
“All Gyokeres there, what a bully. Love it.”
“Gyokeres is such a bully.”
Other supporters doubled down on how strong the forward was in that moment.
“Bro Viktor Gyokeres in UCL is a nasty cheat code man, he’s too big, too strong.”
“GYOKERES BODIED TWO CBs at ONCE.”
Gyokeres is starting to click with his Arsenal teammates
It was a searing start for Gyokeres against Olympiacos, as the Swede carried on from his bright performance against Newcastle.
Gyokeres impressed during the win over Newcastle, with his off-the-ball movement and strength posing a real threat for Eddie Howe’s side.
The same was evident against Olympiacos, as the former Sporting CP star looks to be finding his feet along the front line.
From sharp movement to linking well with his teammates, Gyokeres looks hungry to add to his tally.
