Arsenal fans were left utterly stunned by Declan Rice as the midfielder scored an incredible strike against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final.
The Gunners played host to Los Blancos at the Emirates Stadium, the first time in the stadium’s history it hosted the Spanish giants.
Mikel Arteta called for Arsenal fans to bring their best and they did as the home side started the quicker of the two.
Several opportunities were just missing that final touch, though, with the match playing out like many those home supporters have already seen.
Then there was a moment of magic, courtesy of Declan Rice.

Arsenal fans compare Declan Rice to David Beckham wonderful free-kick goal against Real Madrid
Mikel Arteta highlighted the importance of individual performances ahead of the clash with Real Madrid, in reference to the incredible frontline they boast.
However, it was Arsenal star Declan Rice who had his own individual moment to remember at the Emirates Stadium.
Some distance from the goal, a free-kick with plenty of whip managed to curl around the wall and beyond the outstretched hand of Thibaut Courtois.
Moments later, he repeated the trick in outrageous fashion, scoring an almost carbon copy.
It left many in the ground stunned, while those on social media were also full of praise for the contribution.
The goal had plenty of comparisons to that of David Beckham, as one fan said: “Oh My God. Declan “Bend it like Beckham” Rice.”
Another said: “Declan Rice or David Beckham?”
“That Declan Rice free kick is a thing of beauty, even if you don’t like Arsenal. David Beckham and Roberto Carlos would nod approvingly at that one,” another said.
“Channelling his inner Roberto Carlos on the biggest stage. DECLAN RICE, WE GOT HIM HALF PRICE!” was also added.
It was a ridiculous strike that Rice managed not once, but twice, showing his individual quality and exactly why the price was paid for his signature.

Roberto Carlos in attendance for Declan Rice masterclass
There weren’t many who would’ve predicted such an impact from Rice on free-kicks not once, but twice.
However, if there was one man in the building who knows exactly what it was like to score like the Arsenal star, it’s Roberto Carlos.
The former Real Madrid and Brazil star was in attendance as he watched on to see Rice smash in his two efforts.
They will certainly be hoping the two free-kicks could be enough to land a place in the semi-final of the competition.
