Arsenal opened the scoring with yet another set-piece goal against Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

The Gunners’ extraordinary record from dead-ball situations continued, as they became the first side in Premier League history to score eight goals from corners in their opening ten matches of the season.

Mikel Arteta’s team have also now scored from 12 set-pieces across all competitions this season.

Viktor Gyokeres nodded home from close range after Declan Rice’s spectacular corner was headed across the box from Gabriel Magalhaes.

Arsenal fans were celebrating every corner ‘like a goal’ against Burnley

Arsenal’s threat from dead-balls is simply sublime.

The Gunners have mastered the art of leveraging these moments to find the back of the net consistently, and while opposition fans and pundits may not be enjoying it, their own supporters certainly are.

Panic sets in for the team Arsenal are playing when the ball goes behind for a corner, while the Gunners’ crowd becomes jubilant.

After scoring against Burnley on Saturday afternoon from a corner, the North Londoners’ fans were heard celebrating every following corner that they won.

In fact, according to journalist Sam Dean, it was like Arsenal had scored a goal when they won a corner against the Clarets.

Arsenal had no issues from open play against Burnley

Arsenal have been criticised for their style of play recently, with many feeling that they have become too reliant on set-pieces.

Arteta’s team have been accused of lacking threat from open-play, and many believe that this isn’t sustainable.

However, this couldn’t have been further from the case against Burnley. The Gunners were fluid from open-play, creating chances at will from neat combination play and dynamic movement.

Eberechi Eze, Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard and Gyokeres were combining beautifully at times, producing the type of performance Arsenal fans will hope to see more of moving forward.

While Rice added a second before the break, they quite easily could have scored several more in a rampant first half.
